The Most Luxurious Hybrid Mattress in Canada
The Logan & Cove Choice Mattress is one of the highest-rated hybrid options in Canada. It combines cooling gel foams with zoned pocket coils to create a luxurious, hotel-like bed. Premium materials offer a luxurious experience without the usual price tag that comes with mattresses in this range of quality.
This mattress has excellent cooling and a unique zoned coil support system, keeping you comfortable no matter what position, or how warm you may sleep. The $999 price point is a bargain with how many top-of-the-line features are packed into this mattress.
Our Methodology
When we rank a mattress, we look at several important features that Canadians need for better sleep. We direct our focus toward mattress features such as temperature control, motion isolation, and edge support.
We perform a range of tests on each option. These include ball drop tests, tests for core temperature throughout the night, and tests for edge support. We look at the construction of each mattress, including how its materials interact. After our in-house testers, at-home testers, experts, and researchers spend time testing and reviewing the mattress, we can provide an unbiased review.

Mattress Details
The Logan & Cove Choice Mattress is a hybrid mattress made by goodmorning.com, one of the largest Canadian mattress manufacturers. At just $999 for a queen-size mattress, we were surprised by how luxurious and full of benefits it was. The cover was quilted and plush and had the texture and feel of a nice hotel mattress. The cooling gel at the top of the mattress was adaptive and had some bounce without being overly soft or sinking. This layer provided great ease of movement and cushioned pressure points in all sleeping positions.
This mattress is ranked as a true medium firm mattress and is great for every sleeping position. We found that side and back sleepers deeply benefited from the zoned pocket coils and layer of Elastex foam, which targets pressure points and lumbar support. Our testers who sleep on their stomach also found comfort with the Logan & Cove Choice and didn’t think it was too soft or suffocating. With the longest sleep trial on the market, we were impressed with the 365-night policy, which gives you ample time to check it out for yourself, risk-free.

Logan & Cove Choice Hybrid Mattress Prices and Sizes
The Logan & Cove Choice isn’t as expensive as other luxury hybrids on the Canadian market. A Queen mattress is only $999, which is comparable to some higher-quality all-foam mattresses in Canada. Despite this lower price, the mattress is made with great materials and gains high scores in most of our testing areas.
It offers outstanding temperature control, with low core mattress temperatures across our tests. It works well for most sleeping positions due to the true medium-firm feel, which appeals to most body types as well. The long sleep trial and outstanding warranty work together to make this mattress unforgettable.
The Logan & Cove Choice is available in all six standard mattress sizes. It is also available in Split King size, which is the best option for sleepers with adjustable beds.

Mattress Construction
The Logan & Cove Choice Hybrid is made from different varieties of foam and is layered on top of a pocket coil base.
- The Cover: At the top of the mattress is a .5” thick layer of quilted foam and fibre fill surrounded by polyester and spandex, which is woven with cooling Cryofusion Nanofibres.
- The 1st Layer: A layer of 1” thick cooling gel foam wicks away heat and moisture and is incredibly effective in reducing temperatures. The ecoLuxe gel foam is flexible and cushions joints and aching pressure points.
- The 2nd Layer: Mimicking natural latex, 1.5” of Elastex foam gives the mattress some bounce and spring without you feeling trapped in the surface. With all the benefits of latex, this is ideal for those with latex allergies.
- The 3rd Layer: 9” of individually wrapped coils sit at the bottom of the Logan & Cove Choice, and provide excellent motion isolation for couples. Arranged in five different zones, the coils are designed to support each part of your body, while the reinforced perimeter keeps the edge of the mattress firm.
This mattress uses up to 2,200 pocket coils in the 9” base. The exact number of coils used varies based on the size you choose. The coils are pocketed and zoned, with stronger edge support and lumbar support. The more coils a mattress has, the better it isolates motion and the better it provides custom support.
Mattress Performance and Testing
We zone in on the most important features you can find in a mattress, like temperature control. Motion isolation and edge support when evaluating and testing mattresses.
Temperature Control (9.4/10)
When looking at temperature control, we tested how cool it kept sleepers, how ventilated the mattress was and if there were any specific cooling foams or fabrics within the mattress. Moderately warm sleepers will find a ranking of at least 5/10 to be needed, whereas hot sleepers should aim for anything over 7/10.
The Logan & Cove Choice tested exceptionally high with temperature control and is a mattress that we recommend for those who sleep hot. The quilted cover is infused with cooling nanofibres, which actively wick away heat and moisture. We found that the air closest to the mattress never got stuffy, and the surface always seemed slightly cool to the touch. Under the cover, a layer of adaptive cooling gel foam further reduces body heat, and our testers, who tend to sleep hotter than average, thought it did a great job preventing night sweats and waking up comfortably.
Motion Isolation (6.2/10)
We drop a ball weight on each mattress to evaluate how well motion is absorbed and contained, as well as how much can be felt elsewhere on the mattress. Our team of reviewers also tried out each mattress for a lengthy period, seeing how much motion can be felt when lying next to a restless partner. We recommend a ranking of at least 7/10 if you want better, undisturbed sleep.
The coils inside of the Logan & Cove Choice mattress don’t allow for much motion isolation. They move too freely, which can often make it easy to feel everything happening on the other side of the bed. The poor motion isolation is common in hybrids and beds that use springs, though – this isn’t unusual. Still, some hybrids have managed to overcome it. This mattress doesn’t quite reach the heights we’d like it to.
Edge Support (9.7/10)
We review and examine how each mattress is constructed and look for measures in place to keep the edges firm and stable. A foam mattress tends to have either no or minimal support in place and typically ranks about 5/10 or lower in edge support. Hybrid mattresses usually feature thicker coils and reinforced perimeters, raising their ranking to at least 7/10.
While most bed-in-a-box mattresses do not come with strong edge support, we scored the Logan & Cove Choice high due to its reinforced steel coil perimeter. Over time, this mattress did not start to sink or cave in along the edge, which is impressive and a huge perk for those who tend to sleep on that part of the bed. The mattress held its shape over time despite repeated sitting and sleeping on the edge.
Firmness and Feel of the Logan & Cove Choice
The Logan & Cove Choice is a true medium-firm mattress. It is perfectly balanced, with enough give to relieve pressure well. While some firmer mattresses may feel as though you are floating on top of the mattress, the Logan & Cove Choice engulfs you. The comfort layers aren’t thick enough to make you feel suffocated, though.
Instead, you’ll get support and contouring where you need it most. When you move around, the material reacts quickly, making moving around easy despite the contouring it provides. It’s perfectly balanced to provide a comforting ‘hug’ that doesn’t make you feel stuck. This is likely due to the lack of any memory foam within the mattress. The materials they used instead are perfect for creating a unique, comforting feel.
Performance for Different Weights and Sleeping Preferences
Two factors change how a mattress feels to you. Your body type and sleeping preferences, including sleeping position, may change how you like the Logan & Cove Choice.
Weight Considerations
Sleepers weighing more than 230 pounds need more support. They may sink further into the mattress, which can impact how much pressure relief they receive. Usually, they need a thicker mattress with more comfort layers to get the same effects as lighter sleepers. Likewise, sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds often feel uncomfortable on firmer mattresses.
Thankfully, the Logan & Cove Choice offers balanced support and comfort for all body types. Regardless of how they sleep, Canadians of all body types can get comfortable without reducing pressure relief or support.
Sleeping Positions
Each type of sleeper needs different things from their mattress. The Logan & Cove Choice has something for everyone.
- Side Sleepers: Side sleepers need a mattress that isn’t too firm or too soft. They need the mattress to conform to their body to reduce pressure, and their spines should stay neutral and aligned to reduce discomfort. The Logan & Cove Choice provides zoned support, great pressure relief, and layers of comfort foam that provide better alignment and balancing.
- Back Sleepers: Back sleepers also need to be well-aligned to sleep comfortably. It’s easy to wake up with back pain on a mattress that is too soft, or one that sinks in too much. Thankfully the Logan & Cove Choice is a true medium-firm, with enough support for even heavier back sleepers.
- Stomach Sleepers: Likewise, stomach sleepers need a softer surface with strong support to keep them comfortable throughout the night. The Logan & Cove Choice offers a comfortable top and support from below, making it ideal for stomach sleepers as well. Heavier stomach sleepers may experience some strain, but most will be pleased with the level of support here.
- Combo Sleepers: Combination sleepers benefit most from the Logan & Cove Choice because of the way it supports all sleeping positions and body types. In addition, this mattress has a remarkably fast response and recovery time, which makes moving around during the night easier and less restrictive.
Delivery, Sleep Trials, & Returns

Company Background
Logan & Cove is a Canadian mattress brand owned by a larger company called Goodmorning.com. As one of the most luxurious bed-in-a-box mattresses you can buy in Canada, Logan & Cove has a reputation for producing excellent, hotel-like mattresses. Logan & Cove mattresses are reasonably priced and will appeal to those with low to moderate budgets.
In addition to the Logan & Cove Choice Hybrid, they also make the Logan & Cove Frontier, which is their upgraded model with better cooling and a plush Euro-top. Those seeking a complete package will appreciate their line of bed frames and coordinating bedding. Available only on their website, Logan & Cove is a premier online-only Canadian brand.
Commitment to the Environment
Logan & Cove falls under the Goodmorning.com parent company. They are committed to reducing carbon footprint with their manufacturing, and use renewable energy during the process whenever possible. Within the Logan & Cove Choice, two layers of eco-conscious materials use more responsible manufacturing techniques than standard memory foam. EcoLight uses 40% less carbon during its creation, and Elastex doesn’t use the same chemicals as other types of latex.
Logan & Cove Choice vs Other Logan & Cove Mattresses
Logan & Cove currently offers two mattress models. The Choice is their basic model, so let’s see how it compares to the Frontier.
Logan & Cove Choice vs Logan & Cove Frontier
The Logan & Cove Frontier is the company’s upgraded mattress. It’s a full 13.5” high and features a plush Euro-top section, which adds additional pressure relief when compared to the Choice. It’s a softer mattress with more cooling features, better breathability, and two layers of coils for optimal support.
Of course, the upgraded Frontier is more expensive than the Choice. However, if you value cooling features, better support, and a plush top, it might be the better option for you. The layer of Aeroduct Micro Coils in the centre of the mattress is a highlight; these coils help the mattress conform to your body while promoting better airflow.
Competing Canadian Mattress Comparisons
Let’s take a look at how the Logan & Cove Choice measures up to other popular Canadian mattresses. We will be comparing the Choice to the Endy Hybrid as well as the Silk & Snow Hybrid.
Logan & Cove Choice vs Endy Hybrid Mattress
The Endy Hybrid Mattress offers the same great motion isolation and pressure relief that makes the Endy mattress a Canadian favourite. Instead of a layer of dense foam for support, it uses pocketed steel coils. Layers of comfort foam create a comforting experience for those who need additional support.
The Endy Hybrid is thicker than the Logan & Cove Choice, but that’s only because of a thick layer of support foam under the coil layer. While both offer great comfort foam layers, the Logan & Cove Choice sleeps a little cooler. Its gel foam provides some small measure of active cooling that the Endy Hybrid doesn’t. However, Endy provides less sinkage and more response than the Logan & Cove Choice.
Logan & Cove Choice vs Silk & Snow Hybrid
The Silk & Snow Hybrid is the company’s midline model. It’s a hybrid with a similar construction to most Canadian hybrid mattresses, but it uses some unique high-density foams and an antimicrobial cover. This mattress packs a few active cooling features into its 12” profile.
The Silk & Snow Hybrid is comparable to the Logan & Cove Choice in almost every way. It features enough active cooling and edge support to keep the average Canadian sleeper happy. The Silk & Snow Hybrid wins when it comes to price, though. The Logan & Cove Choice’s luxury materials make it just slightly more expensive.
Should You Buy the Logan & Cove Choice Mattress?
The Logan & Cove Choice mattress is an ideal option for budget-minded Canadians seeking a luxury hybrid mattress. No matter what sleeping position you tend to favour, the layers of foam and pocket coils do a good job of supporting and providing deep comfort. It has excellent cooling properties and is a far better option than most other hybrid mattresses on the market if you sleep hot.
Logan & Cove offers the longest sleep trial for any other bed in a box mattress and is a full 365 nights. Those who are on the fence about buying the mattress will appreciate the peace of mind that the sleep trial will offer, giving them an entire year risk-free to decide if it is the best option.
Highlights of the Logan & Cove Choice
The Logan & Cove Choice is a supportive hybrid that performed well in most of our tests. Though there were some minor complaints with the way it handled motion transfer, this mattress still performed better than some of the other Canadian mattresses we tested. It’s a breathable mattress with some bounce and enough support for all sleeping positions and body types to get comfortable.
As a company, Logan & Cove is committed to reducing its carbon footprint. All mattresses returned during the 365-night sleep trial are donated to those in need. The 15-year warranty is longer than the industry standard, too.
Areas for Improvement
While the Logan & Cove Choice excels in many areas, it may need improved measures for reducing motion transfer. The motion isolation it offers may be fine for some, but most will have issues with the way it handles isolation. You will be able to feel almost every movement from the other side of the bed.
Sinkage might be a bit too deep on this mattress, particularly for sleepers who prefer to sleep on top of the mattress rather than sinking into it. Otherwise, it’s a good choice for most sleeping positions.
Our Recommendations for the Logan & Cove Choice
As a responsive, supportive hybrid mattress, we’d recommend the Logan & Cove Choice to sleepers who don’t need a plush top. Side sleepers and back sleepers of all body types can get comfortable on this mattress. Those who need additional cooling can be relatively cool on this mattress, and couples will love the additional motion isolation. Overall, this mattress stood out in most of our testing categories.
FAQs
Is the Logan & Cove Choice good for edge sleepers?
Many people sleep on the edge of the bed and deal with sinking or caving over time along the edges. Luckily, the Logan & Cove Choice has built-in edge support that goes along the entire perimeter of the mattress. Made of Canadian steel, this edge support ensures that the mattress will keep its shape no matter where you sleep.
Will couples benefit from this mattress?
The Logan & Cove Choice mattress is not a good choice for couples, especially those with restless partners. The lack of motion isolation properties means the mattress moves a lot when you do, reducing the effectiveness of any motion isolation properties it may have.
How much does the Logan & Cove Choice cost?
The Logan & Cove Choice costs between $799 to $1698, depending on the size that you prefer. A queen mattress, which is the most common size in Canada, costs $999. This mattress is priced in the lower-than-average range, making it affordable for most Canadians looking to buy a new mattress.
Is the Logan & Cove Choice Canadian-made?
Yes, the Logan & Cove Choice is made in Canada. Each mattress made by this company is manufactured and shipped within Canada using family-run mattress makers. We love that shipping is free within Canada to most locations, and delivery is always fast.
What does the zoned support mean for this mattress?
The bottom layer of the Logan & Cove Choice mattress is made of ultra-durable steel pocket coils that are zoned for targeted support. This means that the bed has slightly more give where your hips and shoulders lay and firmer support for your back, legs and head. This zoned support system ensures proper alignment and excellent lumbar support.
How can I test the Logan & Cove Choice?
Every mattress bought from Logan & Cove includes a 365-night sleep trial. This means that while you purchase the mattress up front, you have the option to return it at any point during the sleep trial for a full refund. We recommend testing the mattress for at least 30 nights to let your body adjust to a new sleeping surface.
