Best RV Mattress in Canada

Camping in your RV doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. We would argue that you’d want more comfort than ever if you are travelling in your RV. That’s where a durable, comfortable RV mattress comes in. After a long day of driving or recreation, you need a comfortable place to sleep. With the best RV mattresses in Canada, you’ll get the rest you need no matter how often you take the RV out.

Our Testing Process for RV Mattresses

Scoring the Best RV Mattresses in Canada

Our scoring process for these mattresses (and all of the others we test) involves several rounds of testing from experts and our testing team. We look at practical and simulation test scores, feedback from our team, and opinions from experts to create a composite score that represents what we learned.

How We Tested the Best RV Mattresses in Canada

We tested our RV mattress selection using the same gauntlet of tests that we use for all of our mattresses. We looked at how the mattress performed in several key performance categories. We also looked at the construction of each mattress, available options, cost, and other factors that Canadians find important. In our testing phases, we used both practical and simulation tests to determine how the mattress would perform in different circumstances.

Choosing the Best RV Mattresses in Canada

While there are some great RV mattresses on the Canadian market, the selection in this niche isn’t as large as it is elsewhere. Still, we narrowed down the results of our testing to the best options available. We compared size options, convenience, and performance above all other features. This was an important step that allowed us to choose the best RV mattresses in Canada.

Highlights

  • Three RV-friendly sizes for a variety of sleeping spaces
  • Same great Silk & Snow mattress construction
  • Great pressure relief and motion isolation

The Silk & Snow RV Mattress is the same great flagship mattress from Silk & Snow but made in three RV-friendly sizes. There are three different resizing options to better fit inside your RV, including RV Bunk Small, RV Three-Quarter, and RV Short Queen. Like the standard-sized Silk & Snow mattress, the RV mattresses are made with transparently sourced materials and offer some amazing features, including pressure relief and motion isolation.

Silk & Snow RV Mattress Construction

Examining the layers used to create the Silk & Snow Mattress
Examining the layers used to create the Silk & Snow Mattress
  • Antimicrobial Cover. The cover of the Silk & Snow RV mattress is a silver-coated antimicrobial material. This prevents the growth of bacteria, so your mattress doesn’t begin to smell. The cover is also cool, removable, and machine washable.
  • 2” High-Density Cooling Gel Foam. A top layer of high-density memory foam outclasses standard memory foam, reducing pressure and providing much better durability over time.
  • 2” Transitional Performance Foam. A middle layer of motion isolation foam helps dampen any motion throughout the mattress, contouring to your body to reduce pressure and keep you comfortable.
  • 6” Premium Base Layer Foam. The base of the mattress is a durable, supportive foam layer that aligns your body, reduces strain and maintains the structure of the mattress for years to come.

Silk & Snow RV Mattress Performance Scores

Temperature Control – 8.0/10

One area where the Silk & Snow RV Mattress could improve is temperature control. This all-foam mattress has a few measures for keeping higher temperatures at bay, but many Canadians may still feel heat building up within the mattress. Our heat mapping tests revealed that higher temperatures tended to stick around within the materials, which made it a little uncomfortable for some of our testers.

Motion Isolation – 9.4/10

Motion isolation is important for couples, particularly those with restless partners. It’s a key feature for many, which is why the score from the Silk & Snow RV Mattress is so important. This mattress does a great job of stopping motion as it happens, reducing vibrations. Our practical tests revealed little significant motion transfer, and our simulation tests showed similar results.

Pressure Relief – 9.7/10

The pressure relief from this mattress was surprising, not least because the comfort layers are relatively thin. Because of this, we expected more pressure from the core of the mattress. However, this is different. Even our heaviest sleepers found that they were comfortable throughout the night, with some of the best pressure relief in an all-foam mattress.

Ease of Movement – 9.1/10

The high-density foam at the top of the mattress makes it easy to move around. You will be cradled, but you won’t sink in far enough to feel as though you are stuck in the mattress. Our testers reported that moving around was easy, and they didn’t notice any additional effort required to get comfortable.

Who is the Silk & Snow RV Mattress For?

  • RVs of all sizes. There are three different RV sizes available, including RV Bunk Small, RV Three-Quarter, and RV Short Queen.
  • Canadians on a budget. Like the standard mattress, these RV sizes aren’t going to break the bank.
  • Those who need better pressure relief. The pressure relief from this mattress is great, mostly because of the high-density memory foam layers.

Who Should Avoid the Silk & Snow RV Mattress?

  • Those who sleep hot. While the Silk & Snow RV Mattress has some cooling capabilities, it isn’t the best mattress for those who usually sleep hot.

  • Outstanding pressure relief throughout the mattress
  • Three RV mattress sizes are available

The Douglas Summit RV Mattress provides three resized versions of Douglas’s most luxurious mattress option. You can choose between RV Bunk Small, RV Three-Quarter, and RV Short Queen. All sizes of this mattress offer better cooling, motion isolation, and pressure relief than most other all-foam mattresses, even specifically for RV mattresses. You’ll find eco-conscious materials that work to provide some of the best comfort features available on the Canadian market – and now you can take it on the go with you.

Douglas Summit RV Mattress Construction

  • Douglas CoolSense Cover with CryoFusion Cooling Nanofibres. The mattress cover is made with Infinitex thread and CryoFusion cooling nanofibres. This cover is extremely cool, removable, and machine-washable to help your bedding stay fresh.
  • 2.5” Luxury ecoLight Gel Foam with Polar Temperature Balancing. A layer of Polar temperature-balancing material coats the top of this cooling gel foam layer. This phase-changing material maintains a consistent temperature throughout the night, venting off higher temperatures to reduce discomfort.
  • 2.5” Premium Elastex Foam. A transition layer of responsive Elastex foam helps perfect motion isolation and balancing for your body. This layer cradles your deepest points, reducing pressure to maintain comfort throughout the night.
  • 7” Motion Isolation Support Foam. The support layer of the Douglas mattress is a thick motion isolation foam, which provides unparalleled support and maintains a completely static atmosphere. You won’t feel your partner moving around too much on the surface of the mattress.

Douglas Summit RV Mattress Performance Scores

Temperature Control – 9.2/10

The Douglas Summit has excellent temperature control for an all-foam mattress. When camping out in your RV, temperature control can be more important than ever. The cooling gel foam, cooling cover, and phase-changing materials used within the Douglas help dissipate heat quickly, leaving you more comfortable throughout the night. Our heat maps showed that any heat built up and reduced just as quickly, leaving testers more comfortable overall.

Motion Isolation – 10/10

All-foam mattresses are notoriously better for motion isolation. If you or your partner wakes up to every motion, this mattress can help. The foam dampens motion as it happens, reducing transfer so you stay asleep even when your partner is restless. Practical tests revealed that our testers couldn’t feel any motion at all from the other side of the mattress. Our simulation tests picked up little to no vibration after several ball drops, making this the perfect choice for lighter sleepers.

Pressure Relief- 10/10

Pressure relief can be a huge problem in foam mattresses, especially for heavier side sleepers. Thankfully, the materials used within the Douglas Summit RV Mattress help keep you elevated out of the mattress, reducing any pressure that pushes back on you. Our testers, even heavier side sleepers, didn’t experience any pressure at all. In fact, the Douglas Summit RV has one of the best pressure relief scores we’ve seen.

Ease of Movement – 9.9/10

Because of the other scores this mattress received, it’s easy to think that it might be difficult to move around on it. Thankfully, the layers of foam within the Douglas Summit RV keep you elevated out of the mattress, allowing you to sink in without dipping too far into it. As a result, you can easily move around on the surface, as the materials reform quickly to refill any indents you leave behind. Our testing team noted that it was simple to change positions without waking up.

Who is the Douglas Summit RV For?

  • Couples and co-sleepers. The total motion isolation from this mattress makes it an ideal choice for couples, co-sleepers, and those who wake easily when others move around.
  • Side sleepers. The Douglas Summit provides excellent pressure relief for most sleepers, even heavier side sleepers.
  • Canadians who sleep hot. The temperature control features within the Douglas Summit are some of the best we’ve seen, though some extremely hot sleepers may still feel mild heat.

Who Should Avoid the Douglas Summit RV?

  • Canadians who need bounce. If you prefer your mattress to be a bit bouncy, this probably isn’t the right mattress for you. Any feedback from the mattress comes at the expense of the features it provides.

While having minimal bounce is ideal for those who need better motion isolation, it’s not great for those who want a bit of feedback as they move around on the mattress. The Endy RV mattress has great motion isolation but still maintains some bounce for those who need it.

Highlights

  • 5” slimmer than the standard Endy mattress
  • Open-cell foam design adds better breathability to the standard memory foam construction.
  • Outstanding performance in nearly all performance areas

The Endy RV Mattress offers some of the best performance in an all-foam mattress. It is 4” slimmer than the standard Endy queen mattress. You get the same outstanding features in a size that works best for your RV. It only comes in Short Queen, but it’s a great choice for Canadians who need better motion isolation, response, and temperature control.

Endy RV Mattress Construction

  • Micro Quilted Cover. The cover of the Endy RV Mattress is a comfortable quilted material. It’s extremely stretchy and breathable. Plus, you can remove it and throw it into the washing machine with the rest of your bedding.
  • Endy Comfort Foam. The top layer is Endy’s open-cell Comfort Foam, a proprietary blend that is both temperature-neutral and extremely comfortable. This layer reduces heat and motion but stays responsive, making it easy to move around on top of the mattress.
  • Transition Foam. A middle layer of transition foam stops motion in its tracks, making it more comfortable for those who are light sleepers. This layer reduces some pressure and helps align your body.
  • Support Foam. The support core of the Endy RV mattress is a high-density layer of comfortable foam, which is durable enough to retain its firmness and support for the lifetime of the mattress.

Endy RV Mattress Performance Scores

Temperature Control – 9.3/10

The Endy RV Mattress uses open-cell foam, which provides some interesting temperature control features. While there are few active temperature control features outside of this, the Endy mattress does a great job of keeping you cool as you sleep. The Endy is also completely temperature neutral, so the feel of the foam isn’t influenced by the ambient temperature. We noted that heat still gathered within the mattress, but it was quickly removed by increased airflow.

Motion Isolation – 9.6/10

The Endy RV mattress is a good option for couples because of Endy’s famous motion isolation. Their all-foam mattress does its best to stop motion in its tracks,

Pressure Relief- 8.1/10

One area where the Endy RV Mattress could improve is pressure relief. This mattress has relatively thin comfort layers, which may not be enough to reduce or prevent pressure throughout the mattress. Heavier Canadians and side sleepers may not have enough pressure relief, but it’s not bad enough to be uncomfortable for most other sleepers. Our testers mentioned some pressure, though only a few of them developed pressure points as a result.

Ease of Movement – 10/10

The open-cell foam used at the top of the Endy RV mattress keeps you from sinking too far into the layers. This means it’s easier to move around on the surface of the mattress, reducing sinkage and keeping you comfortable if you need to change positions. It’s one of the easiest mattresses we’ve found for movement, making it ideal for combination sleepers.

Who is the Endy RV Mattress For?

  • Couples. Couples and co-sleepers will enjoy how much this mattress reduces motion transfer, keeping you still when your partner is moving around throughout the night.
  • Canadians who sleep hot. Those who need additional temperature control will enjoy the way this mattress isolates heat, reducing night sweats.
  • Combination or active sleepers. If you are an active sleeper and need to change positions often, this mattress makes it easier to move around and get comfortable.

Who Should Avoid the Endy RV Mattress?

  • Those who need pressure relief. The only area where the Endy RV Mattress doesn’t perform as well is pressure relief, so those who suffer from pressure points should avoid this mattress.

  • Policies: 8/10

Highlights

  • Extremely budget-friendly for Canadians who want more for less
  • Great pressure relief for a thinner mattress
  • Available in all 3 standard RV mattress sizes

The Juno mattress is a great choice for those who need an RV mattress that fits their budget. They offer three low-cost options that don’t skimp out on any of the better features, with solid performance in all categories. Other mattresses perform better, but you will be paying at least double for them. The Juno is a thinner mattress that nevertheless offers great pressure relief, with good temperature control and response as well.

Juno Mattress Construction

  • Juno Knit Cover with Cool+. The Cool+ Cover is an optional upgrade for the Juno mattress. It’s a knit cover that is extremely cool, with better breathability and increased comfort throughout the night.
  • 2” Fully Body Cooling Gel Foam. The top layer of the mattress is a cooling foam that maintains comfort and response, with a cushioning surface that isolates heat. This layer contours to your body to relieve pressure points, keeping you lifted out of the firmer coils below.
  • 6” Total Support Foam. The supportive base of the mattress features full-body support and comfort. It’s great for side, stomach, and back sleepers as well as those who need better alignment.

Juno Mattress Performance Scores

Temperature Control – 8.9/10

The Juno mattress uses a cooling cover (which is optional) as well as a layer of cooling gel foam. Together, these layers do a surprisingly good job at keeping you cool, reducing higher temperatures so you stay cool. Some heat built up within the mattress during our testing phases, but it was quickly removed through the breathable layers of foam. This might not be suitable for those who experience extreme night sweats, but it does well for most average Canadian sleepers.

Motion Isolation – 8.0/10

The motion isolation within the Juno mattress isn’t the best, though. This is one of the important categories where the mattress suffered a bit. While it does isolate some motion (and it certainly isn’t the worst-performing mattress we’ve seen), a significant amount of motion and vibration can be felt on the other side of the bed. Simulation and practical tests both revealed pretty poor results for motion isolation.

Pressure Relief – 9.3/10

Despite being a thinner mattress, the Juno performed well when it came to pressure relief. We were surprised to find that most sleepers were able to get comfortable without any significant pressure. Some experienced a little bit of strain, but only heavier side sleepers. The rest of our team didn’t mention any significant discomfort.

Ease of Movement – 8.9/10

It’s easy to move around on the Juno mattress. The materials regain their shape quickly after you move away, making it an ideal mattress for those who move around often. While you may still need to exert some effort to get into a new position, it’s significantly easier than most other all-foam options.

Who is the Juno Mattress For?

  • Canadians who need pressure relief. Despite its thin profile, this mattress provides great pressure relief for those who need it.
  • Those on a tight budget. If you need a comfortable mattress for less, you can’t beat the extremely affordable prices of the Juno RV mattress.
  • RV sleeping spaces of all sizes. The Juno RV Mattress comes in all three standard RV mattress sizes, including RV Bunk Small, RV Three-Quarter, and RV Short Queen.

Who Should Avoid the Juno RV Mattress?

  • Edge sleepers. If you sit or sleep near the edge, be aware that the Juno doesn’t hold up well here. There is no edge bolstering feature within the mattress, so it sags and sinks a bit here.

Best Specialty Foams – Polysleep RV Mattress

  • Bounce: 7.0/10
  • Eco: 7/10
  • Response: 9.4/10
  • Ease of Movement: 9.6/10
  • Policies: 7/10

Highlights

  • Uses layers of special, proprietary foam blends to achieve a unique feel
  • The top layer of the mattress is antimicrobial
  • The supportive frame allows for less sagging at the edges of the mattress

The Polysleep RV Mattress comes in a single size, but it’s the most popular RV mattress size – Short Queen. This RV mattress offers the same benefits as the original Polysleep mattress, with layers of proprietary foams, antimicrobial materials, open-cell and breathable foams, and more. This mattress is soft enough for the comfort of most Canadians, though heavier sleepers may need to find a more supportive mattress.

Polysleep RV Mattress Construction

  • Liquid Repellent Cover. The cover of the Polysleep RV Mattress is made of a blend of polyester and polyviscose. This cover repels liquids, keeping your mattress safe from spills. The mesh surrounding the rest of the cover is extremely soft and works well with most sheet sets.
  • Ventilated Viscoelastic Hybrid Foam. The top layer of the mattress is a ventilated open-cell foam that is comfortable and breathable. This layer vents off hotter temperatures, isolates them, and cushions your joints for better comfort overall.
  • Transition Foam. A layer of transition foam helps reduce discomfort by cushioning your deepest pressure points. This layer also stops some motion and remains breathable for better temperature control outcomes.
  • Dense Support Foam. The bottom of the mattress uses a deep layer of support foam that helps isolate motion and keep you aligned. This layer provides great support for lighter sleepers and reduces sagging and indents.
  • Contouring Support Frame. A supportive foam perimeter wraps around the layers of the mattress, reducing sagging at the edges and helping it keep its shape.

Polysleep RV Mattress Performance Scores

Edge support testing for the Polysleep Mattress
Edge support testing for the Polysleep Mattress

Temperature Control – 8.8/10

The foam layers in the Polysleep RV mattress do a good job of reducing higher temperatures throughout the mattress. Layers of ventilated foam help a lot, but this mattress might not be ideal for those who sleep extremely hot. If you experience a lot of night sweats, you may need a mattress that deals with heat better than this one. Our tests showed that heat was slow to disperse once it built up inside the mattress.

Motion Isolation – 9.7/10

The materials of this mattress isolate motion well. The open-cell design of the mattress traps motion as it happens, reducing most vibrations before they make their way to the other side. Our testers barely felt any movements, though some of the larger motions were still detectable. Similarly, our equipment measured fewer vibrations than expected.

Pressure Relief- 8.9/10

Pressure relief isn’t this mattress’s best feature. Though it stops pressure when it comes to lightweight sleepers, most heavier sleepers may sink too far into the bed to remain comfortable. Our testers had some complaints of discomfort, particularly those who slept on their side. Still, it is comfortable enough for most average sleepers.

Ease of Movement – 9.6/10

The high-density memory foam at the top of the mattress provides a well-cushioned surface that responds quickly to your movement. You can change positions without becoming stuck in the mattress thanks to how quickly they respond. This is a great option for those who need to change positions often. Our testers had no complaints about how it felt to move on this mattress.

Who is the Polysleep RV Mattress For?

  • Couples. Couples and those who need better motion isolation can sleep better on this mattress, as it does a good job of dampening motion.
  • Canadians who change position often. If you often change positions to get comfortable, you’ll love the way this mattress responds to your movements.
  • Edge sleepers. The edge of the mattress is bolstered with a contouring support frame. As a result, the edges will be more comfortable and less prone to sagging.

Who Should Avoid the Polysleep RV Mattress?

  • Canadians who need support. If you need strong support to sleep comfortably, the Polysleep RV Mattress might not be the right choice for you. The mattress is too soft overall to make it comfortable for those who need stronger support.
