Back pain is a widespread complaint among Canadians. Most adults will, at some point, wake up with an aching back. If this happens often, your mattress may be to blame. Those who regularly suffer from back pain require specific features from their mattresses, which is why choosing the right one is so important. Below, we’ve tested six mattresses specifically for how well they help with back pain. There’s sure to be an option on this list that can help you sleep better.
It’s important to note that you should always consult a healthcare professional before choosing a mattress specifically for back pain. If you have chronic, long-lasting pain, there may be other issues to address. Always take the advice of your doctor over ours.
How We Tested Our Mattresses for Back Pain
Our Scoring Process for Mattresses for Back Pain
The scores we’ve reached for each mattress are based on tester feedback, our own testing results, and expert opinions. We’ve put those statistics together to reach a composite score. This score represents the best idea of how the mattress will perform for most Canadians with back pain, with special weight towards features they need. These composite scores also helped us choose which mattress would be best for all Canadians.
Our Tests for Mattresses for Back Pain
When testing mattresses for how they would work for those with back pain, we examined a few critical features. We tested pressure relief and support a little more intensely than we usually do, including areas like lumbar support and zoned support. We looked at the specific conditions that those with back pain need and attempted to match those needs with our testing process. Practical tests (using a team of testers) and simulation tests (using monitoring equipment) helped us reach our conclusions.
How We Chose Our Back Pain Mattresses
When we set out to choose our mattresses for back pain, we looked at a range of features. We looked at each mattress’s test results in specific categories like pressure relief and support, as well as the materials used to create these conditions. Our list became smaller and smaller as we evaluated these features. This led directly to our choice of the six mattresses listed here.

Highlights
- Extreme alignment for those who suffer from back pain
- Perforated cooling foams promote breathability
- Recycled, eco-conscious cover made from up to 121 plastic bottles
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow is one of the best options on the Canadian market for those who sleep hot. It’s also a great option for those who need strong support. Multiple layers of supportive, zoned foams and coils make this mattress a strong contender for those who need the best lumbar and hip support possible. This mattress works hard to keep you aligned, from the gel pods nestled in the alignment layer to the strong pocket coils and beyond.
Casper Wave Hybrid Snow Mattress Construction
- Quick Cool Cover with Casper Edge Support. The breathable cover is made from up to 121 recycled bottles. The fabric is infused with phase-changing material to reduce heat. The edges of the cover are firmer as well to promote better edge support.
- Casper Signature Foam with Cooling Gel & AirScape Technology. This top layer is responsive and cool, with air channels to vent heat down through the mattress and away from you.
- HeatDelete Bands. HeatDelete Bands nestled between the first and second layers use phase-changing material to remove heat from your sleeping environment.
- Latex with AirScape Technology. A layer blended with 50% natural and 50% organic latex provides additional balancing, reducing strain and keeping air moving through the mattress.
- Premium Memory Foam with Zoned Support and AirScape Technology. Zoned memory foam in the centre of the mattress aligns your spine perfectly, with better support and pressure relief than memory foam alone.
- Align Foam with Gel Support Pods. Casper’s proprietary Align Foam is thicker in some places and thinner in others to provide better support where you need it most. In addition, it’s filled with nestled gel pods to provide some of the strong support and sinkage protection on the Canadian market.
- Flex Coils. The pocketed coil layer is responsive and strong, so your body is always right where it needs to be.
- Edge Support Perimeter. A perimeter of edge support foam helps reduce sinking and sliding at the edges of the mattress, so you can sit or sleep there without any loss of support.
Casper Wave Hybrid Snow Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.4/10
The layers of cooling gel foam and perforated AirScape make for a cooler experience with this mattress. Temperatures built up a bit but quickly dissipated in our cooling tests. The layers within the mattress are great for those who sleep hot. All but the hottest sleepers will stay comfortable, as this mattress pushes cooler air to the surface and isolates heat away from you.
Motion Isolation – 7.0/10
The one area we wish was better for this mattress is motion isolation. Because Casper uses coils and layers of dense, firm foams for this mattress, it doesn’t stop motion well at all. Our practical tests were telling, with testers noting they felt most movement from the other side of the bed. At the same time, our simulation tests showed a lot of motion transfer with our weight drop tests. Those with restless partners should consider a different option.
Pressure Relief – 10/10
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow really stands out when it comes to pressure relief. Some Canadians with back pain need pressure relief to reduce strain on their joints keep uncomfortable pressure points away, and improve the quality of their sleep. You’ll be happy to know that our testers didn’t note any discomfort at all. The mattress has a comforting ‘hug’ that doesn’t make you feel stuck, which is the perfect combination for most sleepers.
Ease of Movement – 9.5/10
Casper’s proprietary foams create a comfortable mattress that is easy to move around on. We measured a quick reaction time, which meant that the materials reformed quickly when we moved away. Even after our testers had been in the same spot for hours, moving out of their body indents required little to no effort.
Who is the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow For?
- Those who need pressure relief. The layers of comfortable foams help reduce pressure, so you can sleep on your side without developing uncomfortable pressure points.
- Canadians who want superior body alignment. Zoned foam, foam with alignment properties, and coils create a mattress that helps align your body, which can reduce back pain for some.
- Users with more to spend. The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow is expensive, even among other luxury mattresses. It’s only a viable option if you have a lot to invest in your mattress.
Who Should Avoid the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow?
- Couples and cosleepers. The only area where the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow comes up short is motion isolation. If you need a mattress that isolates motion, this isn’t the right option for you.

Best Hybrid – Logan & Cove Frontier
- Temperature Control: 9.2/10
- Motion Isolation: 7.1/10
- Edge Support: 9.7/10
- Pressure Relief: 9.4/10
- Bounce: 9.0/10
- Eco: 9.2/10
- Response: 9.0/10
- Ease of Movement: 9.3/10
- Policies: 9.5/10
Highlights
- Plush, comfortable top for those who need better pressure relief
- Breathable design promotes better temperature control
- Two layers of coils make for a more supportive mattress overall
The Logan & Cove Frontier is one of the best hybrid mattresses in Canada for back pain. Two layers of coils promote better support and contouring without adding any additional temperature control problems. While this area performs extremely well in most areas, it lacks the motion isolation that some may need from a mattress. Further, it’s a luxury hybrid that comes at a surprisingly affordable price.
Logan & Cove Frontier Mattress Construction
- Quilted Euro-Top Cover. The quilted Euro-top cover creates a soft, comfortable sleeping surface. It is made with CryoFusion Nanofibres woven into the fabric. This top section also uses a layer of hollow fibre fill and quilted foam infused with cooling gel.
- 1” ecoLuxe Gel Foam. The top layer of ecoLuxe cooling gel foam provides better cushioning and pressure relief, as well as removing higher temperatures. This foam isolates heat to move it away from you, venting it down through the coil layers.
- 1” Aeroduct Micro Coils. These micro-coils provide better airflow through the core of the mattress. This layer also helps contour your body better, reducing pressure and discomfort.
- 1 ⅝” Elastex Foam. A transition layer of latex alternative foam helps with deeper pressure relief and helps isolate some motion. This layer is thick enough to provide cushion from the coils below, which is great for heavier side sleepers.
- 9” Pocket Coil Support Layer. The pocket coils in the support layer are arranged in 5 different zones, with firmer coils around the perimeter for edge support. Firmer coils in the centre of the mattress also reduce strain and provide some relief from back pain.
Logan & Cove Frontier Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.2/10
This mattress uses two layers of coils for better breathability, as well as layers of cooling gel foam and breathable fibre fill at the top of the mattress. Together, these materials make it cooler for those who usually sleep hot. The temperature spikes that developed throughout our tests were wicked away quickly enough through the breathable foam layers.
Motion Isolation – 7.1/10
Like most hybrid mattresses, the Logan & Cove Frontier struggles a bit when it comes to motion isolation. The coils help motion travel a little easier, while the layers of foam don’t do enough to stop it. Our tests picked up significant motion – both recorded motion from our equipment and perceived vibrations from testers. We can’t suggest that you choose this mattress if you sleep light and often wake up as your partner moves around.
Pressure Relief- 9.4/10
The comfort layers at the top of this mattress help with pressure relief. The micro-coils also help with better contouring and pressure relief. Overall, our testers reported a great experience with the comfort level of this mattress. Even our heaviest side sleepers stayed comfortable throughout the night without experiencing increased aches.
Ease of Movement – 9.3/10
It’s easy to move around on top of this mattress. The layers of latex-alternative foams help keep you elevated out of the mattress. Though this mattress has a fair amount of sinkage, it still provides great ease of movement because the materials reform quickly. We measured a response time that was faster than average, and our testers reported no issues at all when it came to movement.
Who is the Logan & Cove Frontier For?
- Combination sleepers. Those who move around a lot will find that it is easy to do so on top of this mattress. The materials respond and reform quickly, so it doesn’t take long to return to its usual shape.
- Canadians who sleep hot. Those who usually struggle to stay cool will appreciate how breathable this mattress is. Multiple layers move heat away from you and introduce cooler air to the sleep surface.
- Side sleepers. The comfort layers within the Logan & Cove Frontier allow for a more comforting experience, particularly for side sleepers who experience pressure points.
Who Should Avoid the Logan & Cove Frontier?
- Cosleepers with restless partners. The motion isolation is the only part of this mattress that could use some work. We don’t recommend it to those who need better motion isolation.

Alternative Option
The Logan & Cove Frontier has some of the same downfalls as the other hybrid mattresses on our list. One of them is motion isolation. If you need to isolate motion to sleep better, consider an option like the Emma Hybrid Premium Plus. It isolates motion better than most of the other mattresses on the Canadian market.
Best Organic – Silk & Snow Organic
- Temperature Control: 9.1/10
- Motion Isolation: 7.2/10
- Edge Support: 9.0/10
- Pressure Relief: 8.9/10
- Bounce: 7.8/10
- Eco: 10/10
- Response: 8.5/10
- Ease of Movement: 9.4/10
- Policies: 9/10
Highlights
- Three firmness levels to choose from
- All certified organic materials, including wool, cotton, and latex.
- Great temperature control and ease of movement
The Silk & Snow Organic Mattress is our favourite organic mattress on the Canadian market. All of the foam, wool, and latex used within the mattress are certified by either the GOTS or GOLS. These certifications ensure that you are getting the best materials possible. Silk & Snow also carefully documents where all of the materials within their mattresses come from, so you can always find where particular pieces are sourced. This mattress offers three firmness options, which increase in price as they get softer. All share the basic Firm construction, with additional layers and thicker materials depending on the firmness option chosen.
Silk & Snow Organic Mattress Construction
- GOTS-Certified Organic Cotton Cover. The cover of the Silk & Snow Organic is made with organic cotton, which is quilted for better comfort and increased temperature control.
- GOTS-Certified Quilted Wool Layer. The quilted wool layer acts as a natural fire barrier, so the rest of the mattress doesn’t have to use harmful chemicals to meet safety standards. It also wicks away sweat and keeps you cooler.
- Plush and Medium Firm Only – 0.8” Quilted Latex Layer. In the Plush and Medium Firm versions of the mattress, there is an additional layer of quilted latex. This layer produces better pressure relief and increases comfort across the surface of the mattress.
- GOLS-Certified Latex Layer. The main layer of Dunlop latex in the middle of the mattress changes depending on the firmness level. The Plush version uses a 3.5” layer, while the Medium Firm uses 1.5”. The Firm version has the smallest layer, at just 0.8” thick. This layer provides pressure relief and motion isolation throughout the mattress.
- Zoned Pocket Coil Base. The base of the mattress uses up to 1,200 pocket coils for strong, zoned support. It’s firmer under your hips and lumbar for better alignment while remaining soft where needed for pressure relief.
- Edge Support Perimeter. The coils are surrounded by a perimeter of dense edge support foam. It helps prevent sagging when you sit or sleep near the edge of the bed, so you get the same level of support across the entire mattress.
- Stabilizing Foam. The stabilizing foam layer at the bottom of the mattress provides structural integrity and increased durability.
Silk & Snow Organic Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.1/10
The Firm version of the Silk & Snow Organic mattress offers the best temperature control. As the mattress gets softer, the temperature control gets a little worse. However, all versions of the mattress are comfortable for those who sleep warm. The layers vent heat and reduce build-up, too. Our tests showed that temperatures were decreasing quickly, reducing the amount of time that heat stayed on the surface of the mattress.
Motion Isolation – 7.2/10
Because the Silk & Snow Organic is a hybrid mattress, it offers worse motion isolation than all-foam options. This mattress doesn’t stop motion well, though the Plush version does a better job overall of keeping vibrations from travelling to the other side of the mattress. We noted a lot of motions, even some small ones, were detected after our practical and simulation tests.
Pressure Relief- 8.9/10
Like with all other performance scores, the performance of the mattress varied depending on the firmness option chosen. The Plush version of the mattress offered better pressure relief than the Firm version. However, that doesn’t mean the firm version was uncomfortable. It still offered great pressure relief, and our testers still didn’t wake up feeling uncomfortable. However, heavier testers preferred the Plush version of the mattress, as it offered thicker comfort layers and prevented more pressure points.
Ease of Movement – 9.4/10
Ease of movement was a great feature of the Silk & Snow Organic. No matter which version of the mattress you choose, it’s easy to move around and get comfortable. Turning over and changing position is simple. We observed a quick response time for the materials, which reformed even after hours of being compressed under our testers and weights.
Who is the Silk & Snow Organic For?
- Eco-conscious Canadians. Every layer in the Silk & Snow Organic mattress is certified organic and eco-conscious. If you are conscious about how the Canadian mattress industry affects the planet, this is a good choice for you.
- Those who want a firmness choice. If you want to choose the firmness of your mattress, this is one of the best options for you. Canadians with different levels of back pain may need different firmness options, and you have three to choose from here.
- Canadians who sleep hot. The Silk & Snow Organic offers great motion isolation (in the Firm version). The temperature control isn’t as great when you get the Plush version, but it’s still a good choice for those who generate heat in their sleep.
Who Should Avoid the Silk & Snow Organic?
- Light sleepers. If every motion from the other side of the bed wakes you up, this may not be the right mattress for you. It offers poor motion isolation, so you’re likely to feel most movements from the other side of the bed.
Factor | Silk & Snow Organic |
Price | $1000 (Firm), $1200 (Medium Firm), $1800 (Plush) (Queen) |
Sizes | Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King |
Firmness | Firm, Medium Firm, or Plush |
Sinkage | Minimal to Strong |
Response Time | 0.6 sec (average) |
Motion Isolation | Moderate to Strong |
Edge Support | Strong |
Bounce | Moderate |
Comfort Layer Height | 2” (Firm), 2.5” (Medium Firm), 4” (Plush) |
Support Layer Height | 8” (All) |
Sleep Trial | 365 Nights |
Warranty | 15 Years |
Alternative Option
The Silk & Snow Organic is a hybrid that comes in three different firmness options. Unfortunately, it offers poor motion isolation. If you want a hybrid with better motion isolation, you should consider the Emma Hybrid Premium Plus. While this mattress only comes in a single firmness option, it’s the best hybrid mattress in Canada for motion isolation.
Best Luxury – Simba 5000 Pro Flex
- Temperature Control: 9.4/10
- Motion Isolation: 10/10
- Edge Support: 8.1/10
- Pressure Relief: 9.3/10
- Bounce: 9.5/10
- Eco: 9/10
- Response: 8.5/10
- Ease of Movement: 8.3/10
- Policies: 7/10
Highlights
- Thick comfort layers for better pressure relief
- Two layers of microcoils create a more comfortable, supportive sleeping surface
- Eco-conscious and proprietary materials help create a unique, high-quality feel
The Simba 5000 Pro Flex Mattress is the most luxurious model in Simba’s hybrid mattress line. This option provides optimal support and bounce, especially for those who like a lot of feedback. It performs extremely well when it comes to motion isolation, which is a key point for some Canadians. Layers of specialty foams and two layers of conical coils make this mattress perfect for sleepers who need a little extra from their mattress.
Simba 5000 Pro Flex Mattress Construction
- Breathable Sleep Surface. The hand-knitted cover is hypoallergenic and breathable. It creates a great introduction to the mattress, with a soft surface that slides well under your favourite sheets.
- Natural Wool Layer. A layer of natural wool wicks away sweat and heat. It also reduces pressure so you can sleep more comfortably.
- Open-Cell Graphite-Infused SimbaTex. This layer of open-cell foam is infused with graphite, which naturally isolates heat. The foam also increases airflow to keep you cool and comfortable.
- 2 Aerocoil Spring-Comfort Layer. Two layers of conical springs make the comfort layer of this mattress better at relieving pressure. A total of up to 5,000 microcoils help isolate motion and distribute your weight evenly, leading to better support for your spine.
- Edge to Edge Simba-Pure Support. A transition layer of high-density foam makes this mattress more responsive. This layer also features Edge Lift technology, which offers support from one edge of the mattress to the other.
- Zoned Simba-Pure Base. The base of the mattress is split into seven support zones, with ventilated collapse points to provide the perfect level of support no matter how you sleep.
Simba 5000 Pro Flex Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control -9.4/10
The layers of breathable materials in the Simba 5000 make it great for those who sleep hot. The temperature control measures do a great job of isolating heat, moving it away from you, and removing it from the mattress entirely. The conical coils introduce cooler air throughout the mattress, too. Whenever a significant amount of heat built up within the mattress, we saw it sharply decline in no time at all. This means you’ll get steady control for higher temperatures.
Motion Isolation – 10/10
Most hybrid mattresses offer poor motion isolation, but most use thick pocket coils. Because this mattress uses thinner conical coils, it does a much better job of absorbing motion. As showcased in our practical and simulation tests, the thicker foam layers keep the mattress from moving too much. Our equipment and testers noticed near-total motion isolation during periods of high activity on the other side of the bed.
Pressure Relief- 9.3/10
The thicker comfort layers and conical springs make for surprisingly competent pressure relief. The mattress allows for the perfect amount of sinkage, though this can be a detriment at times. Still, testers didn’t develop uncomfortable pressure points when using this mattress. It offered better results than most of the other pressure-relieving mattresses we looked at.
Ease of Movement – 8.3/10
Mattresses that use memory foam can struggle with ease of movement, and this mattress is no different. It functions like an all-foam mattress in a lot of ways due to the conical coils. We found it hard to move around on the surface after laying in the same spot for too long, which may be a problem for combination sleepers and those who need to change position often.
Who is the Simba 5000 Pro Flex For?
- Couples with restless partners. The Simba 5000 does a great job of isolating motion. You won’t feel anything from the other side of the bed, even when your partner is restless.
- Canadians who sleep hot. If you often overheat, the breathable foams and cooling features within this mattress can keep you cooler.
- Those who don’t move much in their sleep. If you aren’t changing positions often, this mattress will work fine for you. The ease of movement makes it harder to change positions throughout the night.
Who Should Avoid the Simba 5000 Pro Flex?
- Canadians on a budget. This mattress isn’t the most expensive option on our list, but it’s more expensive than some Canadians can afford.
Factor | Simba 5000 Pro Flex |

The Simba 5000 is a luxury mattress that has a host of great features but may struggle a bit when it comes to body alignment. If that’s the case for you, consider the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow. This mattress offers better cooling and multiple layers of materials that promote better alignment.
Best Specialty Foams – Emma Hybrid Premium Plus
- Temperature Control: 9.2/10
- Motion Isolation: 10/10
- Edge Support: 9.0/10
- Pressure Relief: 8.7/10
- Bounce: 9.6/10
- Eco: 7.0/10
- Response: 9.7/10
- Ease of Movement: 9.6/10
- Policies: 9/10
Highlights
- Surprisingly solid motion isolation for a hybrid mattress.
- Zoned, comfortable support that promotes better alignment.
- Proprietary and specialty foams introduce unique properties to your sleeping space.
The Emma Hybrid Premium Plus is made entirely with specialty foams, which gives it a unique feel and sets it apart. Even among other hybrid mattresses, you won’t get a mattress that feels quite like this. This is an upgraded version of the Emma Hybrid Premium, with the only difference being the distinctly different cooling cover for this version. Because of this, it also offers great temperature control.
Emma Hybrid Premium Plus Mattress Construction
- Ultra-Dry Cover. The upgraded cover of the Emma Hybrid Premium Plus uses a breathable fibre to reduce heat better than the standard cover, so you can sleep comfortably.
- 0.75” Thermosync Foam. This layer of graphite-infused cooling foam naturally works to isolate heat. Graphite conducts heat away from you, reducing heat build-up at the surface of the mattress.
- 0.5” AirgoCell Foam. Point Elastic AirgoCell foam absorbs heat into its open-cell design. This layer provides a lot of temperature control, moving higher temperatures to the coolest areas of the mattress (and away from your body).
- 0.5” MemoryAdapt Foam. This layer of memory foam cushions your deepest pressure points, balancing your body and distributing your weight more evenly across the mattress.
- 0.75” HRX Foam. A layer of durable transition foam helps reduce pressure no matter how you sleep. This layer is integral for those who suffer from back pain, as it helps balance your body and maintain alignment.
- 8” Pocket Coil Layer. The pocket coils in the support layer are separated into 7 ergonomic zones. These pocket coils offer stronger alignment and support, making them a great option for those who need additional back support.
- 3.5” Support Foam. At the very bottom of the mattress, a layer of supportive foam helps reduce sagging and sinking over time. This foam offers some much-needed structural support.
Emma Hybrid Premium Plus Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.2/10
If you sleep hot, the Emma Hybrid Premium Plus may be able to help. This mattress uses multiple cooling features, including the pocket coils, to reduce higher temperatures throughout the mattress. In our tests, we noted quick rises in temperature that quickly dissipated. Throughout the night, heat won’t build up and make you uncomfortable. All but the hottest sleepers will be more comfortable here.
Motion Isolation – 10/10
The Emma Hybrid Premium Plus is a hybrid, which usually means less motion isolation. However, that isn’t the case with the Emma Hybrid Premium Plus. This mattress features some of the highest motion isolation scores of all mattresses we’ve looked at, including hybrid and foam options. We tested this mattress extensively in both practical and simulation tests, and it passed all of them with flying colours.
Pressure Relief- 8.7/10
One of the areas where the Emma Hybrid Premium Plus doesn’t perform as well is pressure relief. This mattress works to relieve pressure with multiple layers of specialty foams, but the comfort layer is ultimately pretty thin. Our heavier testers felt comfortable most of the time, but some reported uncomfortable pressure points after just a few hours on the mattress.
Ease of Movement – 9.6/10
The combination of comfort layers makes moving around on this mattress extremely comfortable. The quick response time is visible when you move on top of the mattress, eliminating indents left by your body. Even our most restless testers found it extremely easy to move around on top of the mattress, reducing discomfort and making it easier to get comfortable.
Who is the Emma Hybrid Premium Plus For?
- Couples with restless partners. For a hybrid mattress, the Emma Hybrid Premium Plus has absolutely outstanding motion isolation. It’s one of the best scores we’ve ever seen in a pocket coil mattress.
- Those who move around a lot at night. In addition to great motion isolation, this mattress features outstanding responsiveness and ease of movement. The result is a mattress that supports the restless partner in a relationship, and the one that usually wakes up to tossing and turning.
- Canadians who sleep hot. The temperature control in this mattress reduces heat build-up for all but the hottest sleepers. If you need help staying cool, this is a great choice.
Who Should Avoid the Emma Hybrid Premium Plus?
- Eco-conscious Canadians. If you are worried about your carbon footprint (or the impact of your mattress on the environment), this may not be the mattress for you. The company doesn’t have many eco-conscious policies.

While the Emma Hybrid Premium Plus performs well in almost every category, the company isn’t very eco-conscious. If you want a more eco-conscious hybrid option, consider the Silk & Snow Organic Mattress. You can choose the Medium-Firm option of that mattress for a similar feel, though it won’t feel exactly the same.
Best All Foam – Nectar Premier Copper Mattress
- Temperature Control: 9.1/10
- Motion Isolation: 10/10
- Edge Support: 7.2/10
- Pressure Relief: 9.1/10
- Bounce: 6.0/10
- Eco: 5.0/10
- Response: 9.3/110
- Ease of Movement: 9.4/10
- Policies: 10/10
Highlights
- Extreme motion isolation for couples
- Great ease of movement for those who move around a lot in their sleep
- Lifetime warranty
The Nectar Premier Copper Mattress is the only all-foam option on our list. When it comes to back pain, this mattress is best for those who need their mattress to cradle them. It’s a medium when it comes to feel, with layers of cooling and pressure-relieving foams that contour to your body. The copper cover and cooling measures help reduce temperatures, and responsive foams give it a great ease of movement score. While this mattress isn’t bouncy, it is responsive enough for those who move around a lot during the night.
Nectar Premier Copper Mattress Construction
- Dual-Action Cooling Copper Cover. The quilted cover uses cooling technology to wick away heat and moisture. It’s a soft, comfortable fabric that works with woven copper to conduct heat away from you.
- 4” Gel Infused Memory Foam. This cooling memory foam relieves pressure. It is CertiPUR-US certified, so it’s free of any harmful chemicals.
- 3” Responsive Foam. This transition layer is extremely responsive, allowing for better ease of movement and increased pressure point relief. This layer is also better at aligning your spine and provides additional airflow.
- 7” Poly Foam Base. The base of the mattress is a stable 7” layer of poly foam. It helps provide great support for a softer mattress, providing better spinal alignment for those who need it.
Nectar Premier Copper Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.1/10
Though this is an all-foam mattress, the Nectar Premier Copper is loaded with cooling features. The copper-infused cover helps reduce higher temperatures. In our tests, the mattress was able to quickly deal with heat as it built up, leaving you feeling more comfortable throughout the night. All but our hottest sleepers found this mattress to be cool throughout the night.
Motion Isolation – 10/10
Couples, especially those with restless partners, will love the motion isolation offered in the Nectar Premier Copper Mattress. While most of the other options on our lists have moderate motion isolation, this mattress completely isolates any motion from the other side of the bed. Our practical and simulation tests both returned outstanding motion isolation results, with barely any vibration even after larger movements.
Pressure Relief- 9.1/10
The foam layers of this mattress lead to better pressure relief. The memory foam layers cradle your body to reduce strain on your joints. While this mattress doesn’t offer the best pressure relief we’ve ever seen, it still ranks pretty high. Our testers were impressed with how comfortable they were when they woke up in the morning.
Ease of Movement – 9.4/10
Some memory foam mattresses can feel like quicksand, which isn’t great for those who need to move around a lot as they sleep. If you need a mattress that promotes better ease of movement, this is a great choice. We watched the materials spring back into shape nearly instantly, allowing you to move around without being stuck in your indents.
Who is the Nectar Premier Copper Mattress For?
- Couples. The Nectar Premier Copper Mattress has one of the best motion isolation scores on our list. Your partner can toss and turn without waking you up, as you’ll hardly feel anything on the other side of the bed.
- Canadians who sleep hot. The cooling foams and copper-woven cover used in this mattress make it cool for Canadians who sleep hot. Those who sleep extremely hot may need additional cooling measures to stay comfortable.
- Those who need contouring for back pain. This mattress cradles your body, which can be good for some Canadians with back pain. While support and alignment are more important, pressure relief can lead to better sleep regardless.
Who Should Avoid the Nectar Premier Copper Mattress?
- Edge sleepers. This mattress loses a lot of support at the edges. If you tend to gravitate towards the edges of the bed, you may want to choose a different option.
