A Cooling Mattress with Top-Tier Technology
Hush is a fairly new mattress and bedding company that started with its famous weighted blanket. Since then, they have entered the Canadian sleep market with a variety of products, including bedding, additional weighted blankets, bed frames, and the Graph-Iced mattress. Hush innovates often, so you can rest assured that this Canadian company has your best interests at heart. This mattress has gone through several iterations to ensure that you are getting the best possible sleep, with new developments undoubtedly on the way.
The Hush Graph-Iced mattress uses new technologies and materials that no one else is using. The materials work together to eliminate heat. As a result, the mattress features better cooling scores from us than most mattresses we test. This mattress is easy to move around on, has firmly bolstered edges, and responds quickly. Below, we’ll go over all of the best features of the Hush Graph-Iced, including where it does its best work.

Our Methodology
When we test a mattress, we use our in-depth process that includes both practical and simulation tests. We look at all facets of the mattress, starting with the materials and construction. We examine how the mattress should work because of these factors and then put it through its paces. First, we use our team of testers and simulation equipment to help determine how a mattress will perform in various circumstances. We want to get a feel for how the mattress works for Canadians in all sleeping positions.
We take all of the feedback from multiple rounds of testing and compare the mattress’s strengths and weaknesses. We examine and average these scores to try and give you the best idea of how the mattress may work for you. These scores are backed by work from multiple different sources, so you know you’re getting the best look at the mattress that we can give.

Mattress Details
The Hush Graph-Iced is an innovative cooling mattress that reduces temperatures throughout every layer. There are five layers of foam and coils, and all of them are focused on cooling and support. This mattress runs on new technologies that are mostly proprietary to Hush, including some phase-changing materials to achieve a consistent temperature across the mattress.
This is one of the only mattresses we’ve reviewed that achieves a purely ‘firm’ rating from us. While some of the other options get close, this is easily one of the firmest mattresses we’ve seen. That’s good news for those who suffer from back pain, as well as those who need a firmer surface to get truly comfortable.
As far as performance, this mattress offers great temperature control, with high scores in ease of movement and edge support as well. It works well for most average sleepers, though heavier sleepers may have a hard time getting comfortable. While there are a few areas where this mattress could do better, it performs well for its price point.
- Price: $1,499 to $2,499

Hush Graph-Iced Mattress Prices and Sizes
The Hush Graph-Iced Mattress is newly innovated for cooling. It offers extreme cooling support, with greater support at the edges as well. This luxury hybrid is reasonably priced for its features, especially with newer technology. It occupies a middling price bracket, resting in a comfortable place between value and function.
This mattress is available in five standard mattress sizes. It doesn’t come in California King or Split King. If you are seeking a Split King mattress, you can purchase two of the Twin XL sizes to accommodate your adjustable bed. The most popular size in Canada, the Queen, is just $2,099 before sales events, holiday promotions, and bundled deals.

Mattress Construction
The Hush Graph-Iced is made with five layers of foam and coils. The focus for each material is cooling and pressure relief, with some advanced technologies that make the mattress better at keeping you cool, reducing higher temperatures as you sleep. Superior breathability and heat neutralization are the biggest factors here.
- The 1st Layer: The first layer is one of two Fusion layers. These layers wick away heat, reducing temperatures at the top of the mattress. This first layer is made with cooling materials, which help keep higher temperatures away from you as you sleep.
- The 2nd Layer: The second layer is another 1” Fusion layer, this time with an emphasis on wicking away sweat and leaving the mattress more breathable. This layer works together with the top layer to create a comfortable surface and also neutralizes heat.
- The 3rd Layer: Next is a layer of 2” AirCross Vented Transition foam. This layer allows air to pass through airflow channels, venting heat out of the core of the mattress. This transition layer also reduces discomfort throughout, with better pressure relief than the top two layers alone.
- The 4th Layer: Atop the layer of ventilated transition foam is an IcedShift Cooling Band. This phase-changing material completely neutralizes higher temperatures, keeping your mattress at a consistent temperature and removing excess heat from the equation.
- The 5th Layer: The fifth layer of the mattress is the pocket coil layer, which helps to provide support and pressure relief. This layer does its best to keep you balanced and well-supported, with some motion isolation properties and better breathability than support foam alone.
- The 6th Layer: The final layer is a 2” ultra-firm support base. This foundational layer reduces sagging throughout the mattress, which helps it keep its shape for years to come.
While some of the mattresses we review have the same general construction plan, the Hush Graph-Iced is completely different. It features proprietary materials, phase-changing bands, and firm coils in a configuration that we haven’t seen before. The result is a bed that expertly deals with heat, so it’s a great option for those who sleep hot.

Mattress Performance Test Results
Our mattress scores represent a range of feedback from our testers, our simulation results, and in-depth feedback from at-home testers. We use this feedback in conjunction with our experts’ opinions to ensure that we are giving each mattress the score it deserves. Here’s how it tested in a few different performance areas.
Temperature Control (9.6/10)
Waking up too hot is common, even among Canadians in cooler climates. During the night, heat can build up under your body and within your mattress, leading to a concentration of superheated air. When there’s nowhere for this heat to go, you become uncomfortable, and sweaty, and may even wake up in the middle of the night uncomfortable. Most mattresses will have some features to mitigate higher temperatures, which can help stop heat at the source. A rating of at least an 8 out of 10 in this category is essential for those who sleep too hot.
The Hush Graph-Iced is extremely cool. While it doesn’t get a perfect score when it comes to temperature control, it gets as close to perfect as we could expect. That’s because Hush focuses on cooling more than any other performance feature, boasting that they create exceptionally cool mattresses. And for the most part, this is true. Breathable coils and a breathable transition layer reduce heat at the core of the mattress, while a phase-changing band and dual heat-deterrent layer at the top of the mattress work to reduce higher temperatures as well. Even our hottest sleepers noted that they felt more comfortable on this mattress. It solved overheating problems for good in some sleepers.
Motion Isolation (8.1/10)
Motion isolation is an essential thing to look for in a mattress, particularly if you share the bed with a partner. When they toss and turn, a lighter sleeper may be disturbed. Even if you don’t wake up, your partner’s movements can impact the quality of your sleep. Choosing a mattress with at least a 7.5 in this category may ease the movement and keep you sleeping peacefully even when your partner isn’t having a great night.
Motion isolation is one of the areas where the Hush Graph-Iced didn’t impress. While it didn’t perform poorly here, it didn’t quite meet our expectations. Of course, this is partly because it is a hybrid mattress. Hybrid coils tend to flex and move more than foam support cores. However, the support gain you earn by choosing coils may be more important for some. Both our tester feedback and simulation testing revealed that more motion travelled across the mattress than we like to see.
Edge Support (9.4/10)
The edges of a mattress are where the support is most likely to fail. As you approach the edges, the mattress may sink or sag, making sleeping or sitting uncomfortable. Some mattresses offer bolstered edges, reducing sagging and maintaining support. If you need a stronger mattress at the edges than others, you should choose a mattress with at least a 7 out of 10 in this category.
Hush’s Graph-Iced mattress uses a firm foam surround, which encases the coils to prevent a loss of support at the edges. This means that the edges performed well when we tested them. Our team noted that they didn’t sag too deeply for all but the heaviest sleepers and most were comfortable with the level of support they offered.
Firmness and Feel of the Hush Graph-Iced Mattress
The Hush Graph-Iced is a firmer mattress, especially when we consider other hybrid options we’ve looked at previously. It ranks at about a 7.5 on our list, which is one of the firmest options we’ve reviewed in a while. When we rank a mattress, we use a scale from 1 to 10. A mattress that rates a 1 is extremely soft, and a 10 is extremely firm. At a 7.5, the Hush Graph-Iced is considered firm.

It’s easy to move around on this mattress, partly due to the minimal sinkage it features. The materials don’t compress too much, which means you won’t ever feel as though you are stuck in the mattress. It also features minimal bounce, which may be an issue for those who need feedback from their mattress.
On the other hand, the minimal sinkage and quick response time of the materials mean it’s a good choice for Canadians who need to move around a lot to get comfortable. It doesn’t require a lot of extra effort to turn over or move around, reducing how uncomfortable most deeper mattresses can be.
Performance for Different Weights and Sleeping Preferences
A mattress performs differently based on various features, including your body type and sleep preference. No two people are going to experience a mattress in the same way, but we can give you a good idea of how a mattress will feel based on these factors. Here’s what our team of testers found.
Weight Considerations
Your body type is just one of the factors that can influence how your mattress works. Every mattress will perform differently for different body types. A lighter sleeper may not sink far enough into the mattress to get comfortable, while a heavier sleeper may sink too far into the mattress. This can cause uncomfortable pressure points that can affect how you sleep.
The Hush Graph-Iced uses relatively thin comfort layers and provides minimal sinkage. Lighter sleepers may find that it’s too firm, but heavier sleepers may sink too far into the comfort layers to get truly comfortable. This mattress is best for Canadians in the average size range (140 pounds to 250 pounds). Those who weigh more or less, particularly heavy sleepers, may have some issues with this mattress.
Sleeping Positions
Another important factor to consider before you decide to purchase a mattress is how you sleep. Your sleeping position can drastically change how comfortable a mattress is for you. Each sleeping position requires different levels of support and pressure relief to get the most out of their mattresses. Thankfully, we have a team of testers that covers every sleeping position.
- Side Sleepers: Side sleepers need proper alignment to prevent back pain. They also need a mattress that will eliminate pressure where they push against the mattress, reducing discomfort in these heavier locations. Unfortunately, the Hush Graph-Iced doesn’t have the best pressure relief for side sleepers. While it may be comfortable for lighter side sleepers, most heavier sleepers may need more cushion.
- Back Sleepers: Back sleepers need contouring more than anything, and strong support and pressure relief are also concerns. The Hush Graph-Iced isn’t particularly contouring. It offers strong support, but it also lacks some pressure relief that back sleepers may need.
- Stomach Sleepers: Stomach sleepers often need a softer top with extreme support from below. A firmer mattress with a comfortable top is ideal for stomach sleepers. The Hush Graph-Iced offers these things, with firm support and a top that is decently soft for most stomach sleepers.
- Combination Sleepers: Above all else, combination sleepers need to be able to move easily on a mattress. They often shift around as they sleep, attempting to find a more comfortable position. The Hush Graph-Iced is responsive and easy to move around on, so combination sleepers will be comfortable.

Company Background
Hush is a relatively new company, especially when it comes to mattresses. The original Hush mattress was first produced in 2021, making it a newcomer to a market that already includes several great mattresses. This company started making weighted blankets and other bedding, including sheets, pillows, and bed frames. After gaining investment power from an appearance on the entrepreneurial show Dragon’s Den, the company took off.
Hush’s mission is to help those with sleep problems, including insomnia, anxiety, and other conditions that can interrupt your ability to sleep well. That’s why they started with weighted blankets! Since then, they have begun to sell bedding, including sheets and pillows, weighted blankets, and even pyjamas.
Commitment to the Environment
Hush offers no overt commitment to the environment through its business practices. Some of their other products, such as sheets and pillows, are certified organic. However, the Hush Graph-Iced mattress isn’t one of these options.
If you are concerned about the environmental impact of Hush mattresses or want to know more about what the company may be doing to further eco-conscious goals, we suggest contacting the company directly.
Competing Canadian Mattress Comparisons
Hush doesn’t make any other mattresses, so it’s impossible to compare it to other mattresses made by the same company. Instead, we will look at how it stacks up to three other popular hybrid mattresses on the Canadian market. These are the Logan & Cove Frontier, the Silk & Snow Organic, and the Casper Hybrid Snow.
Hush Graph-Iced vs Logan & Cove Frontier

Logan & Cove makes three mattresses, with the newest option being their most luxurious. The Frontier is now their midline mattress, but it offers all the great features of a luxury hybrid. This mattress features a plush euro-top section to reduce pressure, strong zoned coil support, and a host of other performance features that put it a step above its competition in the Canadian mattress market.
Compared to the Graph-Iced, this mattress offers stronger support at the edges, better lumbar support, and much stronger pressure relief. It has eco-conscious layers, which may make a huge difference for some. Finally, Logan & Cove offers a 365-night sleep trial that beats the Graph-Iced. However, the Graph-Iced has better temperature control and slightly better motion isolation.
Hush Graph-Iced vs Silk & Snow Organic

The Silk & Snow Organic is the most luxurious option offered by Silk & Snow. It’s a fully organic mattress that comes in three different firmness levels, including Firm, Medium Firm, and Plush. This mattress offered extreme support and response, with materials that won’t bother allergies. While performance may vary between different firmness options, there are several areas where the Hush Graph-Iced performs better.
The Graph-Iced wins in temperature control, motion isolation, and edge support. Silk & Snow Organic has a better eco-conscious design, and Silk & Snow has better company policies overall. It also has slightly better pressure relief, though this can only get better as move towards the Plush version of the mattress. However, the price point is the real difference. While the Firm version of the Silk & Snow Organic has little price difference from the Graph-Iced, the Plush version is much more expensive.
Hush Graph-Iced vs Simba 5000 Pro Flex

Simba’s 5000 Pro Flex Mattress is their most luxurious hybrid, with outstanding performance and two layers of micro-coils instead of a pocket coil base. This mattress is great at removing heat from your sleep surface but also excels at isolating motion. It promotes better pressure relief, bounce, and eco-conscious policies.
The Simba 5000 offers about the same level of temperature control, though it may be slightly less. It performs better in nearly every performance category aside from ease of movement and response, and the materials used within the Simba 5000 aren’t very responsive. It’s easier to move around on the Graph-Iced, but the Simba 5000 has superior motion isolation, pressure relief, and bounce.
Should You Buy the Hush Graph-Iced Mattress?
The Hush Graph-Iced mattress can be a great value if you prefer a cooler mattress that is strong at the edges. If you need strong support, this is the mattress for you. It won’t break the bank, with a middling price point that is surprising considering the proprietary materials used in its construction. Further, the 100-night sleep trial is completely risk-free, so there’s no reason not to try it. You’ll get a full refund if you choose to return the mattress during the sleep trial.
Highlights of the Hush Graph-Iced Mattress
The Hush Graph-Iced mattress is made for cooling and it shows. It uses materials that provide extreme breathability and cooling, which makes it great for those who sleep hot. It’s also an extremely supportive mattress, with strong coils and foam for those who need additional alignment and full-body balancing. Strong edge support makes this mattress ideal for those who sleep or sit near the edge of the bed, too.
Areas for Improvement
The Hush Graph-Iced is a solid mattress, but there are some areas where it could be improved. One of these is motion isolation, where it scores lower than just about any other category. The coils don’t help, but there are hybrid mattresses on the market that achieve better motion isolation than this option. Pressure relief could be improved, too. Using thicker comfort layers could improve pressure relief, making the mattress more suitable for heavy sleepers and side sleepers.
Our Recommendations for the Hush Graph-Iced Mattress
We recommend the Hush Graph-Iced to average and lightweight Canadians who sleep on their stomachs or backs. Some side sleepers should be okay here, but sleepers who are heavier in general should avoid it. If you sleep hot or need better support (including edge support), this is a great mattress for you. It’s also a good option for those who need to move around a lot at night, as the responsive materials move back into position quickly and easily to accommodate movement.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you set up the Hush Graph-Iced Mattress?
To set up your mattress, place the box it comes in on top of your foundation. Pull the bag that contains the mattress out, placing it on the foundation. Then, you can cut open the bag and roll the mattress out onto the foundation. Wait at least 48 hours before sleeping on the mattress if possible, as this allows it to reach its full size.
Where is this mattress made?
Hush makes this mattress, as well as all of their bedding and weighted blankets, in Toronto. All materials are Canadian when possible, and mattresses ship quickly from domestic warehouses.
Is there a weight limit for this mattress?
Hush has not disclosed a weight limit for the Graph-Iced mattress, but they do state that their mattress is made for all sleepers. This includes different sleeping positions and body types.
Is this mattress good for back pain?
The strong support that the Hush Graph-Iced offers makes it a great choice for those with back pain. If you often wake up with aches, this mattress may be able to help you sleep more comfortably.
How does the Hush Graph-Iced work for couples?
The Graph-Iced isn’t terrible for couples, but it isn’t going to work for those who need better motion isolation. If you often wake up when your partner tosses and turns, or if you are a lighter sleeper, you’ll need a mattress with better motion isolation.
How long does it take this mattress to off-gas?
It can take a week or two for the Hush Graph-Iced to off-gas. While the odours associated with off-gassing are minimal and harmless, it’s worth noting that they may irritate some users. Place the mattress in a well-ventilated room to avoid irritation.
