The materials used within the mattress make it difficult for heat to build up, and we saw the results of this technology during our testing. This mattress isn’t the most expensive or luxurious option in Logan & Cove’s lineup, but it provides some of the best sleeping conditions for heavier Canadians. Motion Isolation – 6.2/10

Because the Logan & Cove Choice is a hybrid mattress, it suffers from one of the biggest pitfalls of hybrid mattresses. The pocket coils allow motion to transfer, leaving Canadian couples with more transfer than they generally prefer. On this mattress, our testers felt nearly everything from the other side of the bed. Our simulation tests showed even stronger motion transfer than ou practical tests suggested.

Pressure Relief- 8.9/10

The comfort layers within the Logan & Cove Choice mattress may be too thin for some users, especially heavier side sleepers. While it does offer some pressure relief, it may not be enough for some users. The foams keep you lifted out of the mattress, so there isn’t enough pushback to be truly uncomfortable unless you press deeply into the mattress.

This mattress uses Elastex foam as a transition layer, which is one of the reasons why it is so easy to move around on top of the mattress. The materials keep you lifted out of the layers, reducing the quicksand feeling associated with normal memory foam. Our testers reported that moving around was easy even after laying in one spot for hours. The materials regained their original shape nearly immediately.

Though the temperatures within the mattress could rise rapidly, they dissipated extremely quickly.

Motion isolation on this mattress is poor, which may be due to the fact that it is a hybrid. The pocket coils don’t do a good job of isolating motion, meaning your partner may be able to feel when you toss and turn. Our simulation tests returned tests that featured a ton of vibration, while the practical testers reported lots of movements, large and small, from the other side of the mattress.

Pressure Relief- 9.3/10

Though the comfort layers in the Endy Hybrid are thinner than some other mattresses provide, they do a great job of providing pressure relief. That’s because the Endy Comfort foam at the top of the mattress doesn’t allow you to sink too far in, so there is little pressure where you touch the mattress. Our testers didn’t have any significant complaints of pressure-related issues after hours of sleeping on this mattress.

The Endy Comfort Foam also makes this mattress extremely responsive. The materials spring back into shape quickly even after hours of being compressed. We noted faster-than-average performance time when it came to response. Our testers also said that it wasn’t difficult to turn over or get comfortable at all, even after hours of sleeping in the same position.

One of the areas where it doesn’t perform as well is edge support, but the score it receives from us is far from the worst we’ve seen. It uses open-cell infused foams, conical springs, and a base of pocket coils to create some of the best contouring and support we’ve seen in a fully organic mattress. With layers of proprietary foams, this mattress offers features and benefits that most mattresses don’t.

• Organic Cotton Cover. The cover of the mattress is made with certified organic cotton. This top is extremely breathable and comfortable. The sides of the cover are a 3D mesh made from recycled water bottles, which helps vent hot air out of the mattress. 
• SimbaTex Comfort Layer. The top layer of foam is an open-cell graphite-infused memory foam. This special formulation is called SimbaTex and provides thirty times the airflow of standard memory foam. It helps with pressure relief, too. 
• AeroCoil Spring-Comfort Layer. A single layer of pocketed, conical springs help with contouring and pressure relief. There are up to 1,000 springs in this layer depending on the size, and they also help with better airflow.

• SupportCore Recyclable Base Pocket Springs with Encapsulation. Up to 1,000 full-sized pocket springs make up the supportive base of the mattress. It is separately into five zones, with firmer coils for better support and softer coils for better pressure relief. An encasement of firm edge support foam is meant to help with edge support.

This mattress is extremely breathable. The open-cell foams and dual coil layers promote better airflow throughout the mattress, so heat doesn’t get a chance to gather. Of course, some extremely hot sleepers may still feel some heat. For the most part, our tests returned good results. Heat was siphoned quickly, but it never really got a chance to become uncomfortable. 

Motion Isolation – 9.5/10

The materials here work to expertly isolate motion. The latex section is especially good at dampening motion, so you won’t feel anything from the other side of the mattress. We were actually extremely surprised that this mattress performed so well in our simulation tests. Our practical tests showed very minimal transfer as well, and most smaller motions didn’t make it to the other side of the bed. 

Pressure Relief- 9.3/10

Between the top layer of memory foam and the second layer of conical mini springs, this mattress contours to your body to relieve pressure. These materials work to provide comfort where you need it most, with support mapped to your heaviest areas. Our tester feedback didn’t report any significant pressure from the mattress, and even our heaviest testers remained comfortable.

The latex and coils used within this mattress make it easier to move around. While the top layer of memory foam does allow for some sinkage, the latex keeps you from sinking too far into the mattress. The materials reform quickly, so you won’t get stuck in your body indent. The Elastex foam, which mimics natural latex, provides the same level of isolating comfort. Together, these materials reduce heat quickly. We noted that the higher temperatures that built up over hours of use quickly siphoned away when the materials got to work.

Motion Isolation – 9.8/10

The Douglas Alpine shines when it comes to motion isolation. This mattress uses layers that dampen motion entirely, reducing shaking and vibrations on the other side of the mattress. In our practical and ball drop tests, we had similar results – testers could barely feel any motion from the other side of the bed, and our equipment picked up extremely minimal vibrations.
