If you are looking for a budget-friendly mattress in Canada, the Bloom Mist and Endy mattresses are both popular options. But how do you know which mattress will perform better in regular use and offer you the support and comfort required for a good night’s sleep?
Which mattress is better for you depends on various performance factors such as temperature regulation, motion isolation, and edge support. We at Slumber want to make it easier to compare these factors by testing the mattresses and giving them easy-to-understand scores that help you to determine quickly how well a mattress will meet your needs.

Overview of the Bloom and Endy Brands
Bed-in-a-box mattresses have increased in popularity over the last decade and Endy is one of the original Canadian brands in the field. The company was launched in 2015 and has found many fans since then who appreciate their reasonably priced, quality mattresses. The company is in Montreal, Quebec and manufactures all its mattresses locally. Endy focuses on online sales but has two showrooms, both located in Ontario.
The Bloom Mist, one of several mattresses in the Bloom Collection, is sold by Sleep Country as their own line of bed-in-box mattresses. Sleep Country has been in business since 1994 and has over 250 stores across Canada. However, the Bloom Mist mattress is generally not available in stores but is sold mainly online. Bloom mattresses are made in China are among the top-selling bed-in-a-box mattresses in the country.
Bloom Mist Vs. Endy Foam Price Comparison
The Bloom Mist and Endy mattresses are both sold at a lower price point making them suitable for Canadians who are looking for a budget-friendly mattress. While the twin XL, Full (also called double), and queen mattresses from Bloom are cheaper, the twin and king mattresses are more expensive.
Note that while the split king option is not listed for either mattress, you can still have that option by purchasing two twin XL mattresses. This option is for people who prefer two separate mattresses, for example, to further reduce motion transfer across the bed. For your convenience, we have calculated the cost of the split king option and added it to the table below.
Mattress Size | Bloom Mist | Endy Foam |
Twin | $679 | $675 |
Twin XL | $729 | $745 |
Full | $759 | $820 |
Queen | $779 | $895 |
King | $1,029 | $995 |
California King | N/A | $995 |
Split King | $1,458 | $1,490 |
RV Mattress (Queen) | $829 | $895 |
Mattress Sizes
Most mattresses sold in Canada come in standard sizes to fit standard bed frames and this is true for the Bloom Mist and Endy mattresses, too. The mattress lengths and widths are identical but the Endy is a higher mattress. Therefore, if height is important for you, out of these two mattresses Endy will be the better option.
Endy’s size options include California king, which is not available from Bloom. The California king is narrower than the regular king but longer. If you are a very tall person and need the extra length, opt for the California king from Endy. In addition to the mattresses for your home, both brands also offer an RV mattress.
Mattress Size | Bloom Mist Dimensions | Endy Foam Dimensions |
Twin | 75” x 39” x 9” | 75” x 39” x 10” |
Twin XL | 80” x 39” x 9” | 80” x 39” x 10” |
Full | 75” x 54” x 9” | 75” x 54” x 10” |
Queen | 80” x 60” x 9” | 80” x 60” x 10” |
King | 80” x 76” x 9” | 80” x 76” x 10” |
California King | N/A | 84” x 72” x 10” |
Split King | 80” x 39” x 9” x 2 | 80” x 39” x 10” x2 |
RV Mattress (Queen) | 75” x 60” x 9” | 75” x 60” x 10” |
Sleep Trials, Warranty, and Delivery
When you are looking for a new mattress, we always recommend you find out if the mattress comes with a sleep trial, what the warranty period is, and if you qualify for a free delivery. These details can save you money and give you reassurance when purchasing a mattress online.
Sleep Trial
One of the cons of purchasing a mattress online is that you cannot try it out in person. However, mattress retailers have come up with a solution and offer sleep trials, meaning you can try the mattress at home and return it if you are not 100% happy with it. You still pay for the mattress but will get a refund should you choose to return it.
Both Endy and Bloom Mist come with a 100-night sleep trial. While the sleep trials are shorter than some available in Canada, 100 nights is long enough for you to decide whether the mattress works for you; it takes up to a month to get used to a new mattress.
Note that if you decide to return the Bloom Mist to Sleep Country, they will charge a $65 dollar exchange fee and the refund will be issued as in-store credit and you can use it, for example, to pick a new mattress from their selection that includes over 50 mattresses.
Warranty
Warranty period refers to the time the mattress is covered for issues related to manufacturing and materials. Out of these two mattresses, Endy offers a longer warranty: 15 years compared to 10 years for the Bloom Mist. However, since most foam mattresses last between 8 and 10 years in regular use, both warranties are likely to cover any defects for the whole lifespan of the mattress.
Delivery
Endy offers free delivery to most parts in Canada. However, some remote locations, for example, within the territories will incur a fee of $150. You can check if you will have to pay the delivery fee on the website before you order. The mattresses are shipped from one of the two Endy warehouses (Ontario or British Columbia) and usually arrive within a week.
Sleep Country offers two delivery options: standard and Green Glove delivery. The standard option is free for all orders over $75 except for Northwest Territories, Yukon, Nunavut, Newfoundland, and Labrador, where a $120 delivery fee will apply. The Green Glove delivery is an optional upgrade that includes assembly, removal of packaging material, and removal and recycling of your old mattress.
Mattress Construction and Performance
Each mattress brand has their own way of constructing a mattress even if they are using the same type of materials such as foam. How the mattresses are put together will affect how well they will perform and how firm or soft they will feel. Below, we explain how the Bloom Mist and Endy mattresses are constructed and how the scores they received in our tests compare.
Differences in Bloom Mist and Endy Foam Mattress Construction
The Bloom Mist and Endy mattress are both all-foam mattresses constructed from three layers of foam. Both mattresses come with a removable cover that can be removed and washed. The Cover on the Endy mattress is quilted polyester that is breathable and soft, while the Bloom Mist cover is organic cotton with copper infusion for better cooling and antimicrobial properties.
The top layer of the Endy mattress is Endy Comfort foam which is two inches thick. The middle layer is transition foam and is three inches thick. The final, bottom layer, is made with high-density foam to reduce motion transfer and it is five inches thick. The high-density foam is also designed to prolong the mattress’s lifespan by supporting its shape.
In the Bloom Mist mattress, the top layer is one inch thick and made with gel infused memory foam to support air circulation and provide pressure relief. It is followed by a second layer of gel memory foam that is also one inch thick. At the bottom is a supportive base layer, made with seven inch thick bamboo charcoal infused foam. The charcoal is used to help absorb moisture and odours so your mattress stays feeling fresher.
Temperature Control
Bloom Mist 8.0/10; Endy Foam 6.5/10
How well a mattress supports a regular body temperature is an important feature for all Canadians but especially those who often sleep hot. A mattress that removes heat and moisture away from your body will help you sleep cooler and therefore more comfortably.
In our tests, the Bloom Mist mattress outperformed the Endy mattress by scoring 8/10 compared to 6.5/10 for the Endy mattress. The charcoal used in the Bloom Mist mattress together with the copper-infused cover prevent heat and moisture from becoming trapped so that you are less likely to overheat and sweat while you sleep.
Motion Isolation
Bloom Mist 7.0/10; Endy Foam 8.5/10
Motion isolation is an important feature for anyone who shares their bed. When a mattress has good motion isolation, it will reduce the amount movement can travel across the mattress. When we tested the Bloom Mist and Endy foam mattresses, in this test, the Endy mattress scored higher.
If you are someone who is easily disturbed and woken up by another person’s movements, consider getting the Endy mattress. However, both scores are above average and most Canadians will sleep comfortably on either mattress when sharing it with someone.
Edge Support
Bloom Mist 5.0/10; Endy Foam 5.0/10
When we score edge support, we look at how well the edge of the mattress resists sagging when a person sits or lies on the edge. A strong edge will prevent sagging over time and maintain the mattress’s shape for longer.
All-foam mattresses often have lower edge support than spring or hybrid mattresses so we were not surprised when neither the Bloom Mist or Endy mattress scored highly in our edge strength tests. They both scored five, meaning that if you like to sleep on the edge of your mattress, neither mattress may be the best choice for you.
Firmness and Comfort
Bloom Mist 5.5/10; Endy Foam 6.5/10
When we rate the firmness level of a mattress by using sinkage testing and feedback from testers, we give it a score between 1 and 10. Mattresses with a lower score are softer, while higher scores indicate a firmer mattress. Most mattresses in Canada, fall between 4 and 7 on the firmness scale.
Our tests showed that the Endy foam mattress is firmer than the Bloom Mist but they are both still considered medium firm mattresses. Most people will find that either mattress provides a balance of comfort and support, keeping their spine straight and preventing pressure points from forming.
However, if you are a heavier person, you may find yourself sinking too much in either of these mattresses which can lead to pressure points and pain. Heavier sleepers may want to choose a firmer mattress or combine one of these mattresses with a firmer mattress topper for added support.
Final Verdict: Which Mattress is Right for You?
When you come to make your final decision, you need to consider your sleeping preferences. If you need a bed that will keep you cooler, the Bloom Mist is a better option. On the other hand, for people who place more importance on motion isolation, the Endy foam mattress is better with a higher score in this area. Since neither mattress offers extra strong edges, people who need enhanced edge support may prefer other mattress models.

Other Mattresses from Bloom and Endy
Before you make your final decision, you might be interested in checking out the other options from Endy and Bloom. Endy has one alternative to its foam mattress, which is the hybrid mattress made with a foam top and spring base. It is more breathable so it regulates temperature better and offers enhanced support for your spinal alignment but it is not as good in isolation motion as the foam option.
The Mist is one of five mattresses available in the Bloom collection from Sleep Country. It is the “middle-range” mattress with two models priced lower and two higher than the Mist. The mattresses sold at a lower price point are the River and Earth mattresses, while the more expensive, upgraded versions are called Air and Cloud.
