Hybrid mattresses combine the best of both worlds. You’ll get the comforting feel of contouring memory foam, but with the strong support of pocket coils beneath. Most hybrid mattresses feature better alignment and support, pressure relief, and breathability than memory foam or innerspring mattresses. How We Test Hybrid Mattresses

Our Scoring Process for Hybrid Mattresses
Our scoring process for hybrid mattresses included a range of tests from various members of our team. Our experts, testers, and researchers all gave each performance feature a score. We considered these scores and combined them to create a composite score for each area for each mattress. This means the number you see is the result of multiple inputs from users in different areas.
Our Hybrid Mattress Tests
While we ran each mattress through a gauntlet of tests, we tried to focus on areas that are of the highest concern when testing hybrid mattresses. For example, hybrids have notoriously bad motion isolation. As a result, we ran it through a few more rounds of motion isolation practical and simulation tests. These involved actual testers moving around on the mattress to determine real-life results, as well as a simulated weighted ball drop test to determine how the mattress might act under sudden load. We carried this methodology through all of our hybrid mattress testing phases.
How We Chose Our Hybrid Mattresses
There are a lot of hybrid mattresses in Canada. How did we narrow it down to just 5? We looked at the range of hybrid mattresses and even included mattresses that are loosely considered hybrids. Our team put together a list of the best, and that was narrowed down further to create the list you see here. We are only recommending the best of the best when it comes to hybrid mattresses in Canada.

— Slumber.ca Verified Mattress Review (Endy Elevate Hybrid)
Endy Elevate Hybrid Mattress Construction
Customers can choose between three firmness options: firm, medium-firm, or plush. While there is no difference in the materials, the thickness varies between the three firmness levels.
- AirDrift™ Cooling Cover with CoolWeave™ Technology. The Elevate Hybrid mattress is wrapped in a cover that incorporates CoolWeave™ Technology. The cover has been designed to feel cool to the touch and wick away moisture to create a more comfortable sleeping surface.
- Endy Cooling Comfort Foam. The comfort layer provides cushioning around the shoulders, hips, and lower back to prevent pressure. It comes with Endy’s HeatDiffuse™ Gel, which supports temperature regulation.
- Pressure Relief Foam. The second foam layer of the Endy Elevate is designed to cushion areas that can feel pressure when sleeping, particularly the shoulders, hips, and lower back. The foam also incorporates HeatDiffuse™ Gel to keep this layer cooler.
- Zoned Pocket Coil Layer. The core of the mattress consists of individually pocketed coils that are arranged in specific zones to offer targeted support. The coils are wrapped individually to reduce motion transfer across the mattress.
- High-Density Support Foam. The construction is completed by high-density foam that supports the layers above as well as the overall structure. It prevents sagging over time so that the mattress remains supportive for longer.
Endy Elevate Hybrid Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.2/10
The Endy Elevate performs well in this category thanks to its cooling features and the coil core. The cooling gel helps the foam layers stay cooler, while the coils ensure that air can circulate through the lower part of the mattress. The breathable cover also supports temperature control and keeps the surface feeling cooler.
Motion Isolation – 8.4/10
If there is one area where the Endy Elevate Hybrid could perform better, it is its motion isolation. The foams absorb some of the movement-related vibrations but some movement can still be felt on the other side of the mattress when another person moves. While this is unlikely to be an issue for most sleepers, those who sleep light may prefer a mattress with better motion isolation.
Pressure Relief- 9.3/10
The Endy Elevate provides effective pressure relief for a wide range of sleepers, including those who like to sleep on their side and are prone to feeling pressure around the hips, shoulders, or lower back. For additional pressure relief, customers can opt for the plush version that has a softer feel.
Ease of Movement – 10/10
The Elevate Hybrid is exceptionally easy to move around on. Many people associate memory foams with a stuck feeling, but there is no evidence of that with this mattress. Because the mattress is very easy to change positions on, it is an ideal choice for combination sleepers.
Who is the Endy Elevate Hybrid Mattress For?
- Canadians on a budget. While the Endy Elevate Hybrid isn’t the cheapest mattress on our list, it’s fairly inexpensive for a hybrid model.
- Those who sleep warm. The coils and open-cell foam within this mattress make it surprisingly good for those who sleep warm, and may even be enough for some who suffer from night sweats.
- Users who need stronger pressure relief. The Endy Elevate offers good pressure relief and is likely to keep most sleepers comfortable throughout the night.
Who Should Avoid the Endy Elevate Hybrid Mattress?
- Couples with restless partners. While the Endy Elevate’s motion isolation is likely to work for most sleepers, those who have very restless partners may prefer stronger motion isolation.

Alternative Option
If you are looking for a mattress with strong edge support and a more traditional hybrid mattress feel, you might like to consider the Logan & Cove Frontier. Its reinforced perimeter provides a stable surface while the pocket coils help provide responsive support and good airflow. However, like the Endy Elevate Hybrid, it might not be the best choice for those who need strong motion isolation.
Best Organic – Silk & Snow Organic Mattress

Best Organic
All of the materials within the Silk & Snow Organic mattress are fully natural and organic, making it the perfect choice for eco-conscious Canadians.
- Temperature Control: 9.1/10
- Motion Isolation: 7.2/10
- Edge Support: 9.0/10
- Pressure Relief: 8.9/10
- Bounce: 7.8/10
- Eco: 10/10
- Response: 8.5/10
- Ease of Movement: 9.4/10
- Policies: 9/10
Highlights
- Fully organic materials for eco-conscious Canadians
- Strong lumbar support and breathability
- Three firmness options to choose from, ensuring that all sleepers can find an option they like
“We’ve never had a fully organic mattress before, but now I’m not sure we can go back.”
— Slumber.ca Verified Mattress Review (Silk & Snow Organic)
Silk & Snow Organic Mattress Construction
- GOTS-Certified Organic Cotton Cover. This cover is extremely plush and cool. The quilting makes it a bit more breathable than regular cotton, but it helps your sheets slide nicely while promoting better temperature control.
- GOTS-Certified Wool Quilt Layer. A layer of natural, organic wool is quilted to the cover. This wool naturally wicks away sweat, making it comfortable for those who sleep hot. It improves breathability, but it also acts as a fire retardant. This means that the rest of the mattress doesn’t use fire-retardant chemicals.
- Plush and Medium Firm Only – 0.8” Quilted Latex Layer. A layer of quilted latex between the wool and latex layer helps the mattress stay soft. This layer is only available on the Plush and Medium Firm versions, though it is the same in both versions.
- GOLS-Certified Latex Layer. This layer of organic latex provides the deepest pressure point relief in the mattress. It also reduces motion transfer, ensuring that you are aligned and comfortable throughout the night. In the Firm version, this layer is 0.8” thick. For medium-firm, it is 1.5” thick; in the Plush version, it is 3.5”.
- Zoned Pocket Coil Base. The pocket coil base features up to 1,200 pocket coils, which are zoned based on where you need the most support. The coils are firmer under your hips and lower back and softer under your shoulders and knees.
- Edge Support Perimeter. One of the comfort zones within the pocket coil base is the edge. The edge features firmer coils, which help reduce sagging at the edge of the mattress.
- Stabilizing Base Foam. At the bottom of the mattress, there is a layer of stabilizing base foam. This foam layer helps the mattress keep its shape over time, with less sagging.
Silk & Snow Organic Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.1/10
The Silk & Snow Organic mattress has no organic cooling features. Despite this, it does a great job of keeping you cool. Since there is no memory foam in the mattress, it doesn’t retain heat as much as a memory foam option would. However, there are some limitations. The Plush version of the mattress gathers more heat than the Firm, which doesn’t include as many foam layers. Our testing revealed that heat did build up within the materials, but the Firm version was able to remove it quickly. Still, even the Plush version of the mattress is fine for most Canadians who sleep warm.
Motion Isolation – 7.2/10
Motion isolation varies across the different versions of this mattress, but all of them still return subpar results. While the Plush version of the mattress does isolate more motion, it still doesn’t do enough for most couples. Our simulation and practical tests all returned pretty poor results. While some couples may be fine, those who are often restless need a mattress with better motion isolation.
Pressure Relief- 8.9/10
The pressure relief in this mattress isn’t the best we’ve seen, but it isn’t too bad either. As the mattress gets softer, pressure relief gets better. The Plush version has a ton of great pressure relief measures, so it will be better for those who need it. However, the Firm version will only relieve a minimal amount of pressure. Our testers found that this was consistent over all sleeping positions and body types. If you need better relief, Plush is the way to go. If you are okay with moderate relief, Firm will be fine.
Ease of Movement – 9.4/10
It is easy to move around on the surface of the Firm version of this mattress. Testers of the Firm version reported that they could turn over without any issues, and moving around was easy throughout the night. However, movement gets a bit harder as the softness increases. It’s a little harder to move around on the Medium Firm version, and a little harder than that for the Plush version. Still, none of our test results were particularly bad. Those who move around a lot should still be able to.
Who is the Silk & Snow Organic For?
- Eco-conscious Canadians. Canadians who are concerned about the environmental impact of standard mattress materials may feel more comfortable with this option. It is fully organic, with certified organic cotton, wool, and latex.
- Those who sleep hot. Despite not having any active cooling features, this mattress is remarkably breathable. This is likely due to the lack of memory foam layers, which can add unnecessary heat.
- Side sleepers. The pressure relief and support from this mattress make it ideal for those who sleep on their sides. Side sleepers should choose the Medium Firm or Plush version of the mattress for the best experience.
Who Should Avoid the Silk & Snow Organic Mattress?
- Canadians who need motion isolation. The Silk & Snow Organic mattress doesn’t perform well when it comes to motion isolation. Even if you choose the Plush version, you are likely to feel movements from the other side of the bed.
| Factor | Silk & Snow Organic Mattress |
| Price | $1,400 (Firm), $1,700 (Medium Firm), $2,250 (Plush) (Queen) |

Alternative Option
Canadians looking for a hybrid with better motion isolation should check out the Emma Performance. This mattress offers some of the same benefits, but it also isolates motion better than the Silk & Snow Organic.

- Pressure Relief: 9.4/10
- Bounce: 9.0/10
- Eco: 9.2/10

- 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty
“I’ve never slept so well on a mattress. If you want that luxury hotel experience, this is the mattress for you.”
— Slumber.ca Verified Mattress Review (Logan & Cove Frontier)
Logan & Cove Frontier Mattress Construction
- Quilted Euro-Top. A soft cover Euro-top cover incorporates CyroFusion cooling fibres to reduce overheating. This cover also features hollow-fibre fill for breathability and a layer of cooling gel-infused foam, quilted right into the fabric.
- 1” ecoLuxe Gel Foam. A cushioning layer of cooling gel foam helps dissipate additional body heat, so you can sleep with less pressure or temperature build-up.
- 1” Aeroduct Micro Coils. In the middle of a mattress is the first layer of coils. These micro-coils help the mattress contour to your body, reducing strain and improving comfort.
- 1 ⅝” Elastex Foam. A transition layer of latex-alternative Elastex foam cushions you from the firm pocket coils. This layer also helps reduce some movement.
- 9” Pocket Coil Support Layer. The core of the mattress features up to 1,200 pocket coils, arranged in ergonomic comfort zones. Strong edge coils and centre coils provide better support, while softer coils around your shoulder make for outstanding pressure relief.
Logan & Cove Frontier Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.2/10
The Logan & Cove Frontier offers great temperature control for hotter sleepers, particularly those who need more breathability. This mattress has many active cooling features that reduce temperature throughout the night. Our tests showed that for every increase in temperature, the mattress worked hard to reduce it again.
Motion Isolation – 7.1/10
Motion isolation is tricky with hybrid mattresses, and you shouldn’t expect much of it from the Logan & Cove Frontier. We tested this mattress with practical and simulation tests, using real testers and weighted balls. Both tests returned subpar results, so those with restless partners may need a different mattress.
Pressure Relief- 9.4/10
The Logan and Cove Frontier is a thicker mattress, so the layers come together to offer better pressure relief. The materials are all extremely high-quality and dense, with proprietary blends that work wonders for the mattress. We never got any complaints of pressure points, stiffness, or other discomforts from our testers.
Ease of Movement – 9.3/10
Even though this mattress is great at relieving pressure, it is easy to move around on. The materials won’t leave you feeling stuck in the mattress. Even our most restless testers found it easy to change position without much effort. This seems to change over time, which is why we can’t give it a higher score.
Who is the Logan & Cove Frontier For?
- Hot sleepers. The active temperature control features make this mattress comfortable for those who often wake up with night sweats.
- Canadians who need pressure relief. The layers of comfort materials, including micro-coils, make this mattress extremely comfortable. It provides great pressure relief for those who need it.
- Edge sleepers. If you naturally gravitate towards the edge of the mattress, this could be a good option for you. The edges are particularly strong, so they won’t sag when you sit or sleep there.
Who Should Avoid the Logan & Cove Frontier?
- Couples and lighter sleepers. The poor motion isolation throughout this mattress makes it less than ideal for those who sleep light. If the slightest movement wakes you up, this mattress isn’t likely to help.
| Factor | Logan & Cove Frontier Mattress |
| Price | $1,499 (Queen) |
| Sizes | Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King, Split King |
| Firmness | Medium Firm |

| Comfort Layer Height | 4.5” |
| Support Layer Height | 9.0” |
| Sleep Trial | 365 Nights |
| Warranty | 15 Years |
Alternative Option
The Logan & Cove Frontier is a hybrid that uses microcoils to provide better contouring and relief. However, it offers poor bounce and responsiveness. If you want a similar mattress that is more responsive, consider the Endy Elevate Hybrid.
Best Budget – Juno Hybrid

Best Budget
The Juno Hybrid is a budget-friendly mattress that combines cooling gel foam with zoned pocket coils. It offers a balance of comfort, support and responsiveness at a relatively low price.
- Temperature Control: 9.0/10
- Motion Isolation: 7.3/10
- Edge Support: 8.9/10
- Pressure Relief: 7.5/10
- Bounce: 8.0/10
- Eco: 7.0/10
- Response: 9.1/10
- Ease of Movement: 9.1/10
- Policies: 9.0/10
Highlights
- Hybrid model at a lower cost
- Offers good response and ease of movement
- Good temperature control, especially for a budget hybrid mattress
“We have been really happy with the Juno Hybrid. It is supportive and comfortable and it was cheaper than the other options we considered.”
— Slumber.ca Verified Mattress Review (Juno Hybrid)
Juno Hybrid Mattress Construction
- Knit Cover. The Juno Hybrid comes with a smooth knitted cover that is durable and feels soft under the skin. For additional cooling, customers can upgrade to Juno Cool+ Cover at the checkout.
- Cooling Gel Foam. The Juno Hybrid has a 2 inches thick layer of foam with cooling gel. It helps pull away excess heat, while contouring to the body for better pressure relief and balance.
- Transition Foam. This layer has been designed to provide a transitional layer between the comfort foam and the zone base. As a result, it helps distribute weight evenly and improves pressure relief
- Zoned Pocket Coil Base. Below the foam layers is a 6” layer of pocketed coils arranged in zones to provide target support and relieve pressure. The coils run through the centre of the to provide firmer support, while the top and bottom parts are softer for better pressure relief.
- Base Foam. Underneath the coils is a final layer of foam. It is a denser foam that adds stability and helps the mattress maintain its shape in regular use.
Juno Hybrid Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.0/10
Budget-friendly options often lack the features found in more expensive hybrid mattresses, but this is not the case with the Juno Hybrid. Its cooling gel infused foam effectively keeps the mattress feeling cooler and there is also the option to upgrade the cover to the Juno Cool+ for additional cooling effect.
Motion Isolation – 7.3/10
If you are easily disturbed by movement while you are sleeping, the Juno Hybrid is probably not the strongest option. While the foam layers absorb some vibrations, much can still travel across the mattress. Because of this, couples may prefer a hybrid mattress with stronger motion isolation.
Pressure Relief- 7.5/10
The comfort layers of the Juno Hybrid are quite thin and this affects its score for pressure relief. This is probably going to be adequate for lightweight and some average-weight sleepers, but heavier sleepers are likely to experience pressure around the shoulders, hips, or lower back as they press more into the coil layer.
Ease of Movement – 9.1/10
The Juno Hybrid is easy to move around on, making it a good option for anyone who often changes positions during the night. The pocket coil core is responsive and moves with you, while the foam layers recover their shape reasonably quickly so you can get comfortable faster after changing positions.
Who is the Juno Hybrid For?
- Lightweight sleepers. People who are lightweight are likely to find the mattress more comfortable than heavier individuals.
- Canadians looking for a budget-friendly hybrid. Hybrids can get very expensive due to their more complex construction, but the Juno Hybrid provides a great option for those on a tighter budget.
- People who need more lumbar support. The coils are arranged in zones to offer strong lumbar support and keep you comfortable.
Who Should Avoid the Juno Hybrid?
- Couples. The relatively thin comfort layer does not absorb motion that well, so couples who prioritize motion isolation might prefer a different mattress.

Alternative Option
The Endy Elevate Hybrid is more expensive, but does perform better overall than the Juno Hybrid. It is worth considering especially if you want better pressure relief.

- Excellent temperature regulation
- Luxurious feel
“We were a bit hesitant buying this mattress because of its high price. But we decided to invest in ourselves and have not regretted it at all. I don’t think I have ever slept as well as I do on this mattress.”
— Slumber.ca Verified Mattress Review (Casper Wave Hybrid Snow)
Casper Wave Hybrid Snow Mattress Construction
The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow comes in three firmness options from firm to plush. The construction is mostly the same for all versions, other than the firm version switching two of the layers for a firmer feel.
- QuickCool Cover. The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow has a breathable cover that incorporates cooling fibres to reduce surface heat.
- Casper Signature Foam with PCM and AirScape. The top layer of the Wave Hybrid is both responsive and comfortable, with perforations to help with temperature regulation. In addition, it is coated with phase-changing material, so it maintains a consistent temperature throughout the night.
- HeatDelete Bands. Casper’s proprietary HeatDelete bands actively pull heat away from the body for over twelve hours.
- AirScape Foam. Casper’s premium AirScape Foam has hundreds of perforations to improve airflow through the mattress. This layer also cushions deep pressure points and helps provide balance.
- Zoned Latex. The Wave Hybrid uses zoned latex that is firmer in the centre to provide stronger lumbar and hip support. The latex layer helps with spinal alignment and reduces pressure points.
- Align Foam with Gel Pods. Align Foam is Casper’s wave-shaped foam that is designed to be thicker where you need more support. Its up to 82 gel pods are strategically placed to provide increased support.
- Flex Coils. The support core of the Casper Wave Hybrid features individually pocketed springs. This coil core is designed to offer increased support and pressure relief.
- Edge Support Foam. The mattress has a firm perimeter thanks to its edge support foam that reduces sagging and sinking at the edges.
Casper Wave Hybrid Snow Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.4/10
The advanced cooling technologies used in the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow are very effective. They all work together to move heat away from the body as you sleep and as a result, the mattress maintains a consistently cool feel. It is therefore an ideal choice for people who often sleep hot.
Motion Isolation – 7.0/10
One area where the Casper Wave Hybrid disappoints a little is motion isolation. While the combination of foams and springs work well together to keep the mattress cooler, they do not absorb enough movement, so they can still be felt on the other side of the mattress.
Pressure Relief- 10/10
If you need strong pressure relief, then this could be your ideal mattress with the Casper Wave scoring the maximum points in this category. Its comfort layers combined with the zoned latex and flex coils ensure that you feel supported and cushioned in the right places.
Ease of Movement – 9.5/10
With so many different foam layers it would be easy to think that the Casper Wave feels restrictive. However, this is not the case at all. Instead, the mattress feels easy to move on and change the positions, with the foam layers recovering their shape quickly.
Who is the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow For?
- Side sleepers. The Wave Hybrid offers excellent pressure relief, which is particularly useful for side sleepers.
- People who often sleep hot. This mattress incorporates a range of cooling technologies to ensure you can sleep at a more comfortable temperature.
- Canadians who want a luxury mattress. While the Casper Wave is a more expensive option, it is made with premium-quality materials and should keep you comfortable for years to come.
Who Should Avoid the Casper Wave Hybrid Snow?
- Budget shoppers. The Casper Wave Hybrid Snow is a luxury mattress with premium materials and this is reflected in its price.

FAQs
What is a hybrid mattress?
A hybrid combines pocketed coils with foam or latex layers to balance support and comfort. They have better support and have strong comfort layers to balance them out.
Why pick a hybrid mattress in Canada?
Hybrid mattresses offer better breathability, bounce, and pressure relief. You’ll get better temperature regulation and support, with a focus on alignment and lumbar support.
How long do hybrids last?
Good hybrids typically last 7–10 years, depending on materials and usage. Organic hybrids or latex hybrids can last longer.
Do hybrids cost more?
Yes, hybrid mattresses tend to cost more than all-foam models, especially when you consider zoned coils, additional support layers, and edge support foams that are often used in hybrid options.
What type of hybrid mattress is best for side sleepers?
Side sleepers need a hybrid mattress with better alignment, so hybrid mattresses with zoned coil layers are usually best for side sleepers.
I love the Logan and cove pinnacle, i just wish it was cheaper. But great list on these Canadian made hybrids mattresses, really helped me narrow down the choices
