While memory foam is the most popular mattress material on the Canadian market, latex mattresses are making a strong case. There are many latex mattresses available, and more hit the market every year. Latex, unlike memory foam, doesn’t lead to a quicksand feeling or heat build-up. This means you can move more comfortably and often experience better temperature control on a latex mattress. We’ve put together a list of our favourites so you can choose the best latex mattress in Canada for you.

Our Scoring Process for Latex Mattresses
We score our latex mattresses using the same process we use for all of our mattresses. We look at the materials, construction, and other mattress features. Then, we create a composite score based on tester feedback, our own test results, and expert opinions. These scores represent the most comprehensive scoring system we could put together.
Our Tests for Latex Mattresses
Latex mattresses are known to be responsive, so we know to spend a few more testing cycles to determine how responsive the materials are. We look at a variety of other performance features, including temperature control, motion isolation, and pressure relief, too. These tests are conducted in both practical and simulation settings to ensure the most accurate spread of results.
How We Chose These Latex Mattresses
We chose the best latex mattresses in Canada by selecting the options that performed best. We looked at more than just scores; we also considered the way each mattress felt, the materials used inside, and more. We slowly eliminated options that didn’t perform as well to leave you with only the best.

Highlights
- Three firmness options allow you to choose the mattress that works best for you
- Easy to move around on top of the mattress
- Made with GOLS-certified latex comfort layers
The Silk & Snow Organic is a latex-focused mattress using natural and organic materials. There are three firmness options to choose from, and each features a GOLS-certified Dunlop latex transition layer. This key layer gets thicker with each mattress version, from 0.8” in the Firm version to 3.5” in the Plush version. You can choose the option that works best for you, which is rare to find in a latex mattress.
Silk & Snow Organic Mattress Construction
- GOTS-Certified Organic Cotton Cover. The cover of the mattress is made with organic cotton, reducing heat and wicking away moisture to provide a cooler sleeping experience. It’s also soft to the touch.
- GOTS-Certified Organic Wool Quilt Layer. A quilted layer of organic wool is naturally fire retardant, which means that the rest of the mattress doesn’t contain harsh fire-resistant chemicals. It also wicks away moisture, keeping you cooler if you sleep hot.
- Plush and Medium Firm Only – 0.8” Quilted Latex Layer. Both softer versions of this mattress use a layer of quilted latex for additional pressure relief and support. This layer is the same size in each version where it appears.
- 0.8” GOLS-Certified Latex Layer. Unlike synthetic latex, this natural certified latex layer is fully organic. It provides some motion isolation and deep pressure reduction across all mattress options. In the Medium Firm version, this layer is 1.5” thick. In the Plush version, it is 3.5” thick.
- Pocket Coil Base with Zoned Support. The base of the Silk & Snow Organic is made with up to 1,200 pocket coils depending on the size of the mattress. These coils are zoned, so firmer coils around the edges and through the centre of the mattress help align your spine and ensure ergonomic support.
- Edge Support Perimeter. A perimeter of firm edge support helps reduce sagging at the edges of the mattress. When you sit at the edge, you’ll get the same strong support as you do in the centre.
- Durable Base Foam. An additional layer of stabilizing foam sits at the bottom of the mattress. This layer helps the mattress retain its shape over time, so you stay comfortable for years to come.
Silk & Snow Organic Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.1/10
The temperature control in the basic Firm version of the mattress is great for those who sleep hot. The layer of wool and thinner comfort layers help wick away heat and moisture, so you sleep more comfortably if you are prone to night sweats. The temperature control gets worse as the mattress gets softer, but there is not enough of a difference to give the mattress a lower score. You will still be reasonably cool if you choose the Plush version of the mattress. Our testing returned great results on all versions of the mattress, with less heat build-up and faster dissipation on the Firm option.
Motion Isolation – 7.2/10
Because of the coils used within this mattress, it delivers poorer motion isolation than we like to see. Like with most of these performance areas, the motion isolation properties increase as the mattress gets softer. That’s because there are more soft, comfortable materials to dampen motion. Practical and simulation tests both showed a lot of vibration from the other side of the mattress, even with the smallest movements. While the Plush version offered some motion isolation, couples with restless partners should choose an alternative option.
Pressure Relief- 8.9/10
Pressure relief from this mattress changes a lot based on your choices. Of course, the Plush version offers the best pressure relief. If that’s the performance area you prioritize most, you should choose the Plush mattress. Our testers thought the Firm mattress still offered good pressure relief, but heavier sleepers had some issues with the thinner comfort layers.
Ease of Movement – 9.4/10
It’s easy to move around on the surface of this mattress, mostly due to the responsive nature of natural latex. The core of the mattress doesn’t sink in the way that memory foam does, so mattresses that use latex are generally better for ease of movement. The materials reformed slower than average across all options. It was harder to move on the Plush version, but not difficult enough to make a difference in the final score. You’ll still have an easy time getting comfortable.
Who is the Silk & Snow Organic For?
- Users with different firmness preferences. There are three firmness options available for this mattress, so you can choose the one that works best for you.
- Eco-conscious Canadians. All of the materials used within the Silk & Snow Organic are natural and organic.
- Edge sleepers. No matter which version of the mattress you choose, the edges are well-supported and comfortable.
Who Should Avoid the Silk & Snow Organic?
- Restless couples. This mattress doesn’t offer great motion isolation, mostly due to the coil layer. Because of this, you’ll be able to feel most movement from the other side of the bed.

It features two firmness options with a slightly different construction. Plus, it uses many of the same certified organic materials as the Silk & Snow Organic.
Best Firmness Options – Avocado Green
- Temperature Control: 9/10
- Motion Isolation: 9.1/10
- Edge Support: 10/10
- Pressure Relief: 8.5/10
- Bounce: 9.4/10
- Eco: 9.5/10

- Ease of Movement: 9.4/10
- Policies: 9.5/10
Highlights
- Two firmness options, Standard and Pillow-Top.
- Multiple layers of eco-conscious, organic foams that reduce environmental impact
- Hypoallergenic properties are great for those with allergies
The Avocado Green is an organic latex mattress that offers two firmness options, including Standard (a medium-firm construction) and PIllow Top (a plush option that uses the Standard construction with an additional 5” top layer). You can choose the options that work best for you. Regardless of which option you choose, this mattress offers great temperature control, motion isolation, and ease of movement. It shines when it comes to edge support, too.
Avocado Green Mattress Construction
- 5” Pillow-Top Section (Pillow Top Version Only). The top of the mattress features a Euro-top section, but only when you choose the Pillow Top version of the mattress. It’s a thick, 5” layer of GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex for additional comfort and plushness.
- 100% Organic Cotton Ticking. The entire mattress is wrapped in a layer of organic cotton ticking, which reduces dust and other allergens that can find their way into your bed.
- 100% Organic Wool. A dense wool layer adds pressure relief, reduces strain, and wicks away heat and moisture for optimal comfort.
- 100% Organic Certified Dunlop Latex. Certified Dunlop Latex provides responsiveness and additional comfort, reducing motion transfer and aligning you.
- Pocketed Innerspring Unit. Up to 1,414 pocket coils are separated into 4 ergonomic zones, with reinforced perimeters for additional edge support. These pocket coils reduce strain and discomfort, with better support than foam alone.
- 100% Organic Certified Dunlop Latex. A thinner layer of natural latex supports the bottom of the mattress, preventing sagging over time.
Avocado Green Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9/10
The Avocado Green is made with organic latex, which doesn’t retain heat in the same way that memory foam does. This mattress remains breathable throughout as a result, with fewer opportunities to hold onto the heat you generate throughout the night. Our heat map testing showed less extreme temperature fluctuations than in other Canadian mattresses. The materials acted quickly to siphon heat away, and our testers had very few complaints about heat on this mattress.
Motion Isolation – 9.1/10
The latex layers within the Avocado Green are responsive, but they also work to stop motion transfer. As your partner moves around on top of the mattress, most hybrids allow some motion to travel across to you. However, this mattress stops most motion before it gets to you. This means you can sleep undisturbed throughout the night. Our practical and simulation tests delivered excellent results for motion isolation, with minimal vibrations from the other side of the bed.
Pressure Relief- 8.5/10
While the Avocado Green is comfortable, it doesn’t offer the best pressure relief. That’s because the comfort layers are relatively thin, so you are more likely to feel the firmer coils below. While our average testers didn’t feel much different, heavier sleepers stated that they became uncomfortable on this mattress after a few hours.
Ease of Movement – 9.4/10
The latex layers make moving around on the Avocado Green easy. You can change positions without feeling stuck in the mattress, reducing discomfort and leading to better sleep overall. Our testers noted that they could change positions without any issues. Additionally, we noted quick material response in this mattress. It doesn’t take long for it to move back into place after you turn over or move away.
Who is the Avocado Green For?
- Canadians who sleep hot. Even the Pillow Top version of this mattress has great temperature control. This is likely because it uses breathable foam layers rather than any type of memory foam.
- Couples. This mattress isolates motion well. You are extremely unlikely to feel anything but the largest movements from the other side of the bed.
- Eco-conscious Canadians. All of the materials used within this mattress are certified organic and sustainable, so you don’t have to worry about how it will impact your carbon footprint.
Who Should Avoid the Avocado Green?
- Side sleepers. The comfort layers within this mattress are relatively thin. While they do a good job of keeping you lifted out of the mattress, they lack some pressure relief. Side sleepers may want to find a mattress with better pressure relief overall.

Alternative Option
The Avocado Green mattress doesn’t provide the best pressure relief, which can be a problem for some sleepers. If you need pressure relief in a hybrid mattress, consider the Simba Green Hybrid Wildflower. This mattress has extreme pressure relief, but it comes at the cost of stronger edge support.
Best for Couples – Simba Green Hybrid Wildflower
- Temperature Control: 9.1/10
- Motion Isolation: 10/10
- Edge Support: 8.7/10
- Pressure Relief: 9.3/10
- Bounce: 9.7/10
- Eco: 9.5/10
- Response: 8.4/10
- Ease of Movement: 8.7/10
- Policies: 8/10
Highlights
- Outstanding motion isolation for couples with restless partners
- Ideal for most sleepers, including side sleepers
- Three coil layers provide peak support and pressure relief
Simba’s Green Hybrid Wildflower is the top-of-the-line Simba Green mattress. It improves upon the formula used in other mattresses in the lineup to provide the absolute best in most performance areas. This mattress provides great ease of movement but also offers the best motion isolation we’ve seen in a hybrid mattress. Three coil layers work together to provide the strongest support, pressure relief, and additional bounce possible.
Simba Green Hybrid Wildflower Mattress Construction
- Organic Cotton Cover. The organic cotton cover is extremely breathable. It’s soft to the touch and durable. The mesh that surrounds the mattress is also impressive – 75% of it is made with recycled water bottles.
- Natural Wool Layer. The top layer of the mattress features a comfortable and hypoallergenic wool layer. It helps regulate the temperature of the mattress for all seasons, helping you remain comfortable no matter the time of year.
- SimbaTex Comfort Layer. SimbaTex is Simba’s proprietary memory foam blend. It is an open-cell foam infused with graphite, which is specifically engineered to deal with overheating. It offers drastically increased airflow when compared to standard memory foam.
- 2 Aerocoil Spring-Comfort Layers. A double layer of conical Aerocoil mini springs helps contour the mattress to your body, providing pressure relief where you need it most. Between these two coil layers, you’ll have up to 5,000 coils that provide airflow and support.
- Talalay Natural Latex. A transition layer of natural Talalay latex keeps the conical coils separate from the larger pocket springs below. This layer helps balance your body, reducing pressure and keeping you consistently comfortable. This layer also helps with motion isolation.
- 5 Zone SupportCore Pocket Coil Base. The coil base is extremely supportive, with up to 1,000 pocket springs separated into 5 comfort zones. These coils are sustainable and recyclable, unlike most other coils on the Canadian market. They are encased with a layer of supportive foam that reduces sagging and increases durability.
Simba Green Hybrid Wildflower Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 9.1/10
The layers of materials within the Simba Green Hybrid Wildflower do their best to remove heat from the mattress. The latex at the core of the mattress won’t retain heat like standard memory foam, and the layers of coils provide additional layers of breathability. Our heat maps showed a consistent drop in higher temperatures, which means that you’ll likely stay comfortable throughout the night unless you sleep extremely hot.
Motion Isolation – 10/10
Like most of Simba’s other mattresses, the Green Hybrid Wildflower offers top-tier motion isolation. If you are a lighter sleeper, this mattress can reduce your restlessness at the slightest vibration. During our practical testing, our team didn’t feel any motion from the other side of the bed. Our simulation tests also showed almost no vibration when we dropped weights from various heights.
Pressure Relief- 9.3/10
The pressure relief in this mattress is excellent. The dual coil layer at the center of the mattress expertly cradles your body, reducing discomfort at your joints. This means you’ll feel less pushback from the mattress. Our testers reported that they didn’t feel any pressure, even after long hours sleeping in the same position on top of the mattress.
Ease of Movement – 8.7/10
The materials used here don’t spring back quite as quickly as some of the others we’ve seen. This means that the materials are a little slower and may not reform as quickly. The result is that you could end up feeling stuck in the mattress. The ease of movement on this mattress isn’t too bad, but you may still need to exert extra effort to turn over or change position.
Who is the Simba Green Hybrid Wildflower For?
- Those who want feedback from their mattresses. Despite its strong motion isolation, this mattress also offers bounce. This means that you’ll get some feedback when you move around.
- Canadians who sleep light. The strong motion isolation from this mattress makes it a great choice for those who wake up at the smallest vibrations.
- Side sleepers. The pressure relief from this mattress is great for side sleepers. Strong comfort layers deliver comfortable results, even after long nights in one position.
Who Should Avoid the Simba Green Hybrid Wildflower Green?
- Combination sleepers. The materials are not as responsive as we would like to see for combination sleepers. Typically, we want combination sleepers to have an easy time moving around on the surface of the mattress, but that isn’t the case here.
Factor | Simba Green Hybrid Wildflower Mattress |
Price | $2,999 (Queen) |

Alternative Option
Edge support is a bit weak for the Simba Green Hybrid Wildflower mattress. You may want to choose a mattress with stronger edges, particularly if you gravitate towards the edge. The Avocado Green offers amazing edge support, and the hybrid design will feel quite similar to the Simba.

Naturepedic EOS Classic Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 10/10
It is incredibly rare to find a mattress that receives a perfect score when it comes to temperature control. All mattresses, including latex ones, have issues with heat retention. However, this mattress does its best to reduce heat at every turn. You’ll get perfect airflow. Our heat maps showed that heat dissipated steadily, preventing build-up and leaving you feeling well-rested.
Motion Isolation – 7/10
One area where this mattress doesn’t quite stack up is motion isolation. Our practical tests revealed several flaws with this mattress when it came to stopping motion. Our testers could feel every small movement from the other side of the bed without any issues. Simulation tests showed significant vibration during ball-drop testing, too.
Pressure Relief- 9.8/10
This mattress is great for side sleepers, too. It offers excellent pressure relief, reducing pressure points on aching joints. You can sleep more comfortably without pushback from the mattress. Testers agreed that this mattress felt cloud-like, without any significant discomfort over hours of use.
Ease of Movement – 9.7/10
Latex is extremely responsive, and the latex used within this mattress is even more so. If you need to be able to move around a lot at night, this might be the perfect option for you. We recorded quick material response times, and our testers didn’t mention any difficulty moving around in bed.
Who is the Naturepedic EOS Classic For?
- Couples with different preferences. If you and your partner have different sleeping preferences, this could be the right mattress for you.
- Canadians who sleep hot. This mattress offers one of the best scores for temperature control we’ve ever seen.
- Those who need an organic mattress. All of the foam and fibres used within this mattress are fully organic and hypoallergenic.
Who Should Avoid the Naturepedic EOS Classic?
- Canadians on a budget. While the fully customizable aspects of the Naturepedic EOS Classic are appealing, the price may be far outside the average Canadian price range.

Best Support – Hamuq Organic Hybrid
- Temperature Control: 8.9/10
- Motion Isolation: 8.2/10
- Edge Support: 9.5/10
- Pressure Relief: 9.8/10
- Bounce: 9.1/10
- Eco: 10/10
- Response: 9.1/10
- Ease of Movement: 9/10
- Policies: 8/10
Highlights
- Micro-coils and standard coils for better support and pressure relief
- Firmer edge support caters to those who find themselves sleeping near the edge of the bed
- Some bounce for those who prefer a little bit of feedback from their mattress
Hamuq’s Organic Hybrid Mattress offers outstanding support, due in part to the two coil layers stacked on top of each other. First is a layer of micro-coils, which reduce pressure and help with individualized support. Then, a layer of zoned pocket coils bolsters the edges and keeps your spine perfectly aligned for great support. This mattress also offers better pressure relief, edge support, and more.
Hamuq Organic Hybrid Mattress Construction
- 0.5” 100% Organic Cotton Cover. The cover is breathable cotton with an organic certification. It’s soft to the touch and works well with most sheet sets.
- 1” 100% Wool Quilt Layer. A quilted wool layer helps the mattress remain plush. It’s a natural fire barrier that wicks away heat and moisture as well, so the rest of the mattress doesn’t have to suffer from issues with harmful chemicals.
- 2.5” 100% Organic Latex Layer. 2.5” of Dunlop latex is better for those with allergies, as it uses no chemicals. This layer is great for pressure relief, working to ease you into the comfort map set up by the coils and micro-coils below.
- 1” Micro-coil Layer. A layer of breathable micro-coils rests on top of the zoned coils at the base of the mattress. This layer adapts to your body better than foam or standard coils, providing better support and pressure relief.
- 8” Zoned Pocket Coil Base. The base of the mattress features zoned pocket coils, which are engineered to deliver stronger support through the centre of the mattress. This layer helps align your spine and reduce pressure at your joints so you can rest easy.
- Firm Edge Support. The strong coils around the perimeter of the mattress are made to keep the edges from flattening for true edge-to-edge support.
Hamuq Organic Hybrid Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control – 8.9/10
The Hamuq Original Hybrid doesn’t use any active cooling features. The latex used inside doesn’t allow heat to build up, though – you’ll find that you’ll stay cooler on this mattress than on others for this reason. However, it might not be suitable for sleepers who get extremely hot throughout the night. Our heat maps showed that the mattress was slow to deal with higher temperatures.
Motion Isolation – 8.2/10
Motion isolation was a bit worse than we liked to see for the Hamuq Organic Hybrid. This mattress uses two layers of coils on top of each other, with no foam between them to dampen movement. The comfort layers just don’t do a good enough job of stopping motion in its tracks. Practical and simulation tests both returned results that were a little lower than average.
Pressure Relief – 9.8/10
When it comes to pressure relief, few latex mattresses performed as well as the Hamuq Organic Hybrid. This mattress didn’t allow testers to sink too far into its layers, but it still offered great comfort and support without any of the usual pushback from the support layers.
Ease of Movement – 9/10
The latex layers within the mattress offer better ease of movement than memory foam. The materials react quickly, rising to fill the spaces you move out of. This means you won’t feel stuck in the mattress and will be free to move around on top of the mattress without any issues. Our testers didn’t have any trouble turning over or switching positions.
Who is the Hamuq Organic Hybrid For?
- Canadians who need pressure relief. One of the best parts of the Hamuq is its pressure relief. The thicker comfort layer helps reduce discomfort, while the micro-coils near the bottom of the mattress offer strong contouring and support.
- Those who sleep warm. This mattress offers great temperature control, particularly for those who don’t sleep extremely hot. If you usually sleep a little warmer, this mattress may be able to help.
- Edge sleepers. If you naturally gravitate towards the edge of the bed, you need a mattress with better edge support. The strong edges of the Hamuq Organic Hybrid will remain comfortable regardless.
Who Should Avoid the Hamuq Organic Hybrid?
- Couples. One of the only areas where the Hamuq Organic Hybrid didn’t perform as we expected is the motion isolation. If your partner is often restless and keeps you up at night, consider a mattress that offers better motion isolation.

Motion isolation is a bit of a sore spot for the Hamuq Original Hybrid Mattress. The Avocado Green offers many of the same performance highlights, but it also reduces motion better than most of the other mattresses on our list.
