Canadians are very lucky to have several Canadian mattress brands making high-quality mattresses right here in Canada. However, it does not make it easy to decide on which mattress you should choose, especially when many of them have similar qualities.
We at Slumber want to help you make that decision and in this article, we focus on two hybrid mattresses: the Silk & Snow Hybrid and Logan & Cove Choice. You will find details on how they compare in price, how they performed in our mattress tests, and what they offer in terms of sleep trial, warranty, and delivery to make your decision easier.
Overview of Silk & Snow and Logan & Cove
Silk & Snow makes its mattresses in Ontario using locally sourced materials whenever possible. The company has been manufacturing mattresses since 2017 and in a relatively short time has found many fans in Canada thanks to their high-quality products. The vast majority of Silk & Snow mattresses are sold online, but they do have two physical showrooms (in Toronto and Ottawa) and their bedding is sold in selected EQ3 stores.
Logan & Cove is part of the Canadian company Goodmorning.com. While Goodmorning.com has been selling mattresses since 2009, Logan & Cove is a newcomer having sold its first mattresses in 2018. Their bed-in-a-box mattresses, manufactured in Ontario, are among the most luxurious sold in the Canadian market. While they are known for their hotel-like quality, the mattresses remain reasonably priced.
Silk & Snow Hybrid Vs Logan & Cove Choice Price Comparison
Hybrid mattresses are generally more expensive than all-foam mattresses because they combine foam with coils. Having said that, these hybrid mattresses from Silk & Snow and Logan & Cove are still budget-friendly while delivering comfort and support while you sleep.
The Logan & Cove mattresses are the pricier option, especially when we compare the prices for the king size mattresses. The price difference can be explained by the maximum number of coils used in each mattress as you will see in the mattress construction section.
Mattress Size | Silk & Snow Hybrid | Logan & Cove Choice |
Twin | $700 | $799 |
Twin XL | $725 | $849 |
Full | $800 | $899 |
Queen | $900 | $999 |
King | $1,100 | $1,299 |
California King | $1,100 | $1,299 |
Split King | N/A | $1,698 |
Mattress Sizes
When we compare the dimensions of the Silk & Snow Hybrid and Logan & Cove Choice mattresses, they are almost identical. The only difference is in the full-size (also often called double) mattress with the Logan & Cove being an inch narrower. All the mattresses are designed to fit standard bed frames sold in Canada.
Note that when you visit the company website, you will not find split king listed as one of the size options on the Silk & Snow website. However, it is still available since a split king is created simply by combining two twin XL mattresses and doubling their price. For your convenience, we have included the price in the table below.
Mattress Size | Silk & Snow Hybrid | Logan & Cove Choice |
Twin | 75” x 38” x 12” | 75” x 38” x 12” |

Sleep Trials, Warranty, and Delivery
At Slumber, we always advise our readers to find out all the details about a mattress before purchasing and that includes its warranty, delivery, and sleep trial. Sometimes, these details can even be the deciding factors between mattresses that perform alike.
Sleep Trial
There are still people who consider buying a mattress online as something risky, even though that risk is completely taken away when a company offers a sleep trial. This means that you have an agreed length of time to try the mattress at home and if you are not satisfied, you can return it and get your money back.
At 365 days, the sleep trial from Logan & Cove is one of the most generous sleep trials in Canada. The trial period from Silk & Snow is considerably shorter at 100 nights. However, this is enough time to decide whether the mattress is right for you as it takes around three to four weeks for your body to adjust to a new mattress.
Warranty
The length of the warranty is often an indicator of the quality of materials and craftsmanship. The Hybrid and Choice mattresses both come with a 15-year warranty. Since most hybrid mattresses can be expected to last around 15 years in regular use, the warranty is likely to last the whole time you use the mattress. A warranty generally covers manufacturing and material defects, but it is always advisable to check the details with the company.
Delivery
Silk & Snow offers free delivery to most parts of Canada. However, there may be a fee if you live in the territories. You can check the fee before ordering at the checkout. While some companies apply a standard delivery fee to remote areas, with Silk & Snow it depends on your exact address. Mattresses are shipped within two to four days from ordering and the delivery times vary depending on your location and the courier.
Like Silk & Snow, Logan & Cove has free delivery except to the territories. Shipping to the territories costs around $250. They ship their mattresses within one to five days and delivery can take up to five days depending on where you live. Logan & Cove uses FedEx for their mattress deliveries and you are not required to be at home when the mattress arrives.
Mattress Construction and Performance
When we refer to the performance of a mattress, we mean its ability to regulate temperature, reduce motion transfer, the amount of edge support it has, and how firm and comfortable it feels. At Slumber, we use specific tests to rate each of these factors to make it easier to picture what a mattress will be like to sleep on. How a mattress is constructed is key to how it performs.
Differences in Silk & Snow Hybrid And Logan & Cove Choice Mattress Construction
The Silk and Snow mattress has a one-inch top layer, which is made with cooling gel foam to provide temperature regulation and softness. Between the cooling gel foam and the coils is a two-inch layer of high-density gel memory foam to provide pressure relief and prevent you from waking up with aching joints.
The final layer has up to 1,200 coils depending on the mattress size and is nine inches thick. They are arranged in zones to offer better support across the mattress and to improve motion isolation. The cover, which is not removable, is hypoallergenic and antimicrobial polyester.
The Logan & Cove Choice uses eco-Luxe cooling gel foam as the top layer to wick away heat. The top layer is one inch thick and sits on top of a layer of Elastex foam that mimics the qualities of natural latex.
Earlier, when comparing the prices of the two mattresses, we referred to the number of coils. The Logan & Cove uses significantly more coils, up to 2,200 depending on the size, inside a nine-inch base. The coils are arranged in five zones so each part of your body is supported and the edge of the mattress is kept firm with a reinforced perimeter. Finally, the cover is quilted and woven with Cryofusion Nanofibres that have a cooling effect.
Temperature Control
Silk & Snow Hybrid 6.5/10; Logan & Cove Choice 8.9/10
If you are a hot sleeper, one of these mattresses is clearly the better option for you: the Logan & Cove Choice. Its cooling gel in the top foam layer combined with the cooling nanofibres in the cover work effectively together to move heat and moisture away from you. As a result, you sleep cooler and wake up less due to temperature fluctuations.
The Silk & Snow Hybrid was not that effective in removing heat despite the cooling gel foam top layer. As a result, we would not recommend this mattress for people who sleep hot. However, if you have no problems with overheating while you sleep, then you don’t need to pay too much attention to the lower score but focus on other performance factors instead.
Motion Isolation
Silk & Snow Hybrid 8.4/10; Logan & Cove Choice 8.5/10
When we tested the Hybrid and Choice mattresses for motion isolation, the scores were almost identical, with the Choice mattress scoring marginally higher. The higher the motion isolation score is, the less movement travels from one part of the mattress to another. Hybrid mattresses do not always have the best motion isolation so we were very impressed with how these two mattresses performed.
With these scores, you don’t have to worry about motion transfer with either mattress. Like our testers, if you share your bed, you are unlikely to feel if your partner moves or gets in or out of bed thanks to the foam layers and individually pocketed coils in the base layer.
Edge Support
Silk & Snow Hybrid 9.0/10; Logan & Cove Choice 9.0/10
Edge support refers to the firmness of the edge, which helps the mattress maintain its shape in regular use. A firmer edge is also beneficial for people with mobility issues as it can make getting in and out of bed easier. People who like to sleep on the edge should also look for mattresses with a stronger edge as it will prevent rolling out of bed and the mattress from becoming saggy from sleeping on the edge.
The score, 9.0, for the Silk & Snow Hybrid and Logan & Cove Choice was among the highest for mattresses we have tested. This high score is achieved by arranging the coils in the base layer in zones that include extra strong coils around the mattress’s perimeter for a reinforced edge. So if you are looking for a mattress with a strong edge, you are likely to be happy with either of these.
Firmness and Comfort
Silk & Snow Hybrid 7.0/10; Logan & Cove Choice 6.5/10
When we test mattresses at Slumber, we give them a rating from 1 (softest) to 10 (firmest). It is very rare to find mattresses at either extremes of the scale and most mattresses in Canada fall somewhere in the middle. And there is a good reason: for most Canadians, a medium-firm mattress will deliver the right amount of support and pressure relief resulting in comfortable sleep.
The Silk & Snow Hybrid is a slightly firmer mattress, scoring a 7 in our tests. It offers good support in different sleeping positions and the top layers prevent pressure points. At 6.5 out of 10, the Logan & Cove offers a good balance between support and contouring. It lets your shoulders and hips sink enough to keep your spine in alignment but not so much that you feel stuck to the bed.
Final Verdict: Which Mattress is Right for You?
Based on our test results, people who want a mattress with a strong edge and good motion isolation can choose either the Silk & Snow Hybrid or the Logan & Cove Choice mattress. However, if you also need good temperature regulation, then the Choice mattress is a better option for you. It scored considerably higher in our tests dispersing heat much more effectively than the Silk & Snow Hybrid.
The Logan & Cove mattress is more expensive, because of the number of coils used in the base. However, you get a longer sleep trial with Logan & Cove, which may be beneficial, for example, if you are regularly away from home and need longer to decide if the mattress is right for you.
