Silk & Snow doesn’t have the best temperature control we’ve seen. That’s partly because it only uses cooling gel foam to reduce heat, which doesn’t do too much on its own. This is a classic memory foam issue. Hotter sleepers should choose a mattress with better temperature control properties.

Motion Isolation – 9.4/10

Motion isolation is the key factor for many couples, and the Silk & Snow mattress performs extremely well in this regard. Its high-density layers stop motion as it happens, reducing how much you can feel on the other side of the bed. Restless couples can sleep more comfortably on this mattress.

Endy is now available in three different firmness options: Firm, Medium Firm, and Plush. These mattresses use the same construction, and only the thickness of the materials changes. We reviewed the Medium-Firm version of the mattress, but the layers of materials are the same in all versions.

• Quilted Cover. The removable cover on the Endy Mattress is quilted for additional comfort. It stretches over the foam and works well with all of your favourite sheet sets.
• Endy Comfort Foam. Endy’s open-cell comfort foam promotes better breathability, motion isolation, and support. This layer helps you fall asleep fast and keeps higher temperatures away through most of the night.
• Transition Foam. A middle layer of transition foam reduces motion transfer and cushions your deepest pressure points. This layer lifts you out of the strong support layer so you won’t feel the firmer foam, too.
• Support Foam. A core of high-density foam keeps your body balanced and provides outstanding support. This layer keeps the entire mattress in line, providing a boost to the layers above.

Endy Mattress Performance Scores

Temperature Control – 9.3/10

Though the Endy mattress has no active cooling features, the open-cell memory foam top layer does more than enough to mitigate heat. This layer moves air up through the mattress, removing heat by funneling it away from you throughout the night.

Motion Isolation – 9.6/10

For a while, Endy was the industry leader for motion isolation. Though other mattresses have stepped up their game to match it, Endy still performs extremely well here. We didn’t feel much (if any) motion from the other side of the bed during ball-drop tests, and our testers agreed that motion transfer was minimal at best.

Pressure Relief – 8.1/10

Pressure relief is one of the only areas where Endy didn’t perform well. Its pressure relief capabilities improve as the mattress gets softer, but most Canadians will still need stronger pressure relief. This is especially true for side sleepers, as they need great pressure relief to avoid developing uncomfortable pressure points.

Ease of Movement – 10/10

Endy makes it easy to change position without struggling. This mattress performs better than most of the mattresses we’ve tested when it comes to turning over or changing position. Our testers noted that they didn’t feel like they were stuck in place, and the materials responded quickly to accommodate their needs.

Who is the Endy Mattress For?

• Hot sleepers. Hot sleepers will appreciate the way this mattress deals with excess body heat, funneling it away from you so you can get more restful sleep.

Night sweats are common for Canadians, but this mattress can help. Layers of cooling materials paired with additional airflow make this mattress a good choice for warmer sleepers. Hotter sleepers may need more drastic cooling, but most will sleep just fine on the Emma Performance mattress.

Motion Isolation – 10/10

Motion isolation is the main factor that couples look for, but great motion isolation is rare for hybrid mattresses. That’s why the Emma Performance surprised us. Considering that most of the mattress’s height is made of coils, we didn’t expect it to provide near-total motion isolation.

Pressure Relief- 8.7/10

Pressure relief was one of the areas where the Emma Performance didn’t quite meet our expectations. Though this score is fine for most Canadians, some may not appreciate the thinner comfort layers. Heavier sleepers, in particular, may need a mattress with thicker comfort layers.

Ease of Movement – 9.6/10

Moderate sinkage and responsive materials make this mattress perfect for those who need to move around a lot. You are far less likely to feel as though you are stuck in the mattress, allowing for a much greater range of motion for those who need to readjust often.

• Restless couples. If you want support without sacrificing motion isolation, the Emma Performance is the perfect choice. Though it is a hybrid mattress, it doesn’t transfer motion across the coils. You’ll get near-total relief from this option.
• Combination sleepers. If you frequently change sleeping positions throughout the night, this mattress can make the process easier. Its responsiveness and ease of movement make it simple to change position, even after you’ve slept in the same spot for hours.
• Hot sleepers. Every material used within the Emma performance adds some measure of temperature control. Hot sleepers may be able to get more restful sleep on this mattress.

This mattress keeps motion from moving to the other side of the bed, and performed extremely well throughout all of our testing phases. Our testers agreed that this bed was incredibly still and comfortable, even when there was motion from the other side of the bed.

Pressure Relief – 9.1/10

The thick comfort layers make this mattress perfect for those who need a bit of extra pressure relief. Even heavier sleepers are unlikely to ‘bottom out’ and hit the support layers when they sink into the mattress. Instead, you’ll find deep contouring and pressure relief. The sinkage is deep, but these thicker foam layers mean you’ll never feel uncomfortable because of it.

Despite the deeper sinkage and pressure relief performance from this mattress, it’s still easy to move around.
