The result is a fully-shaped pillow that doesn’t change much when you lie down, but features a softer core for better support and neck alignment. 

This pillow can be ideal for most sleeping positions, but some may need a lower loft (especially stomach sleepers). Still, you aren’t likely to find this experience anywhere else. Plus, it comes at a discounted price.

Casper Hybrid Pillow Prices and Sizes

Compared to some of the pillows in Casper’s lineup, the Casper Hybrid pillow is a bit of a budget model. It’s a much lower price than some of Casper’s more luxurious pillows. That doesn’t mean it’s any lesser, of course. It’s just better for those on a budget this way.

Materials

This pillow uses different materials layered together to create its unique feel. The cover is made of nylon, spandex, and polyester. This blend helps the cover remain stretchy and soft, without reducing any cooling efforts that you may need to stay comfortable. Within the cover is a core of standard memory foam. This is wrapped around a pocket of polyester microfibre that feels soft and extremely comfortable. 

The entire pillow feels like a marshmallow, and many have described the middle of the pillow as having a ‘liquid’ feel because of the much softer fill.

Performance Test Results

Sizes

The Casper Hybrid Pillow is available in Standard and King sizes. Like most memory foam pillows, these are a little slimmer than pillows made with fill. While this pillow technically does use fill, it uses it at the core of the pillow, so it doesn’t affect the overall size. Make sure to choose pillowcases that fit the size you choose. 

Loft and Fill

There are no loft options available for this pillow. It’s a medium loft with a 6″ tall profile, but it isn’t gusseted like some of the high loft pillows we’ve seen. This, and the fill at the core of the mattress, means it’s more likely to spread out. Some side sleepers can be comfortable on this fill level, but others will need more. It can also be suitable for stomach and back sleepers, but some may find it too lofty to be comfortable.

Care Instructions

The foam pillow insert is spot-clean only, so it cannot be washed if it gets stained or soiled. The cover, on the other hand, can be machine-washed on warm in a normal cycle. You can tumble dry it on low after the wash cycle, but it cannot be dry cleaned. Casper also doesn’t recommend using bleach to clean the cover.

Certifications

The Casper Hybrid pillow carries a couple of certifications, including CertiPUR-US certified foam for the core of the pillow. The cover is certified by OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which means that it doesn’t contain any harmful materials.

Casper offers a 30-night risk-free trial for their Hybrid Pillow. During the first month after the pillow arrives at your door, you can return it if it doesn’t work for you. You’ll get a free refund as long as the pillow is in good condition and can be donated. 

You’ll also get a 3-year warranty. While Casper sometimes uses a 5-year warranty for their pillows, the Casper Hybrid has a special warranty due to its unique blend of materials. This covers flaws in the product (including the zipper) during normal use.

Is this pillow okay for side sleepers?

Yes, this pillow works fine for side sleepers. Some side sleepers may need a higher loft to stay comfortable, though. If you need an extremely high loft, you may need to choose a pillow that is a little taller or firmer to support and align your head and neck.

Do I need to use a pillowcase with this pillow? 

Yes! We always recommend using a pillowcase with any of the pillows we recommend. A pillowcase helps maintain the longevity of your pillow, reduces staining, and helps your pillow stay fresh.

How is the temperature control on this pillow? 

On its own, the standard Casper Hybrid Pillow has no additional cooling features. The core of the pillow is breathable, but the memory foam surrounding it is standard memory foam. It tends to retain heat. You can use a cooling pillowcase if you need help with staying cool.
