Casper Foam Pillow Review

Comforting Foam Pillow with Snow Addition for Cooling Available

The Casper Foam Pillow is a memory foam pillow that comes in two different varieties. You can choose the standard Foam option, which uses supportive memory foam in two loft choices (Low and High). The Casper Foam Pillow with Snow is an upgraded version that uses HeatDelete bands to reduce heat throughout the pillow,  moving it away from you as you sleep.

The different sizes, loft options, and cooling options make this memory foam pillow perfect for most sleeping positions. In fact, most Canadians will love how this pillow feels.

Our Methodology

We test pillows with a wide range of practical and simulation tests. We look at the materials and durability of each pillow, looking for quality and softness first and foremost. Then, we test for alignment, temperature control, loft, and a host of other factors that determine how this pillow will perform. Once we are finished with our tests, we send these pillows home with our team of testers. They test the pillows for a longer period to see how they hold up over time.

The combination of our testing results and tester feedback helps us recommend the best pillows for Canadians.

Casper Foam Pillow Prices and Sizes

The Casper Foam Pillow and Foam Pillow with Snow are made with premium materials. The Snow version of this pillow is much more expensive because of the addition of the HeatDelete bands, which work to move heat away from you throughout the night. These are definitely luxury pillows. Here’s the price and dimensions for each variety of the Casper Foam Pillow.

Materials

The Casper Foam Pillow is made with a range of materials. The foam insert is made with 100% open-cell polyfoam. This type of foam is perfect for support, with a soft, squishy feel that stays comfortable in each loft option. The cover is made with a blend of materials, including recycled polyester, recycled cotton, polyester, cotton, viscose, and spandex.

The Capser Foam Pillow with Snow uses the same type of foam insert, but it adds two strategically placed HeatDelete bands. These bands work to remove heat from the pillow all night, and they can reduce temperatures for up to 12 hours. The cover is different, too, likely to help these bands work properly. The cover on this version of the pillow uses Polyester, Polyethylene, recycled cotton, spandex, and rayon for cooling.

Performance Test Results

Sizes

The Casper Foam Pillow is available in Standard and King sizes. These are fairly standardized sizes, especially for memory foam pillows. The only difference in size comes from the height. The Low Loft version is 5″ tall, while the High Loft version is 6″ tall to accommodate side sleepers. Otherwise, the sizes are the same across both versions of the pillow.

Loft and Fill

There are two Loft options available for these pillows. You can choose the Low Loft option, which is about 5″ tall and best for stomach and back sleepers. There’s also the High Loft version, perfect for side sleepers and those who need a little extra lift to align themselves properly. This version is about 6″ tall.

Care Instructions

The pillow insert is spot-clean only in both versions of the Casper Foam Pillow. The cover can be removed and machine-washed at home. Casper recommends machine washing in warm water on a normal cycle, and tumble drying on low afterwards. It’s simple to care for this pillow, as there aren’t too many additional instructions you have to follow to make sure it holds up.

Certifications

The foam insert is made with 100% CertiPUR-US certified foam. This means that the pillow is made without harmful chemicals and was deemed safe for human use, especially close to the skin. This is the only certification that this pillow carries.

Sleep Trial and Warranty

Casper offers a 30-night risk-free sleep trial with this pillow. During the first month, you can return the pillow for a refund if it doesn’t work for you. There are some requirements for this trial. You have to return the pillow in a sanitary, donatable condition, or it may not be accepted. We recommend using a pillowcase at all times during this sleep trial and beyond.

It has a 5-year limited warranty, too. Casper’s pillow warranty covers defects in the zipper on the cover, physical flaws despite normal use, and damage due to a faulty pillow protector (as long as the pillow protector is purchased at the same time). For more information about the sleep trial and warranty, you can check the information on Casper’s website.

Should You Buy The Casper Foam Pillow?

The Casper Foam Pillow is a luxury pillow, especially when you choose the Snow upgrade. Of course, we can definitely recommend this pillow to those who sleep hot. Those on a budget might find this a little pricey, but our testers liked this pillow better than most of the other memory foam pillows we looked at.

“I got the Casper Foam Pillow with Snow in the High Loft option. As a side sleeper who sleeps warm, this pillow is an answer to just about all of my sleep problems. I love it!”

FAQ

How is the temperature control on the standard Casper Foam pillow (the one without Snow technology)?

The Casper Foam Pillow that comes without the Snow technology upgrade still offers mild cooling. The cover is cool, and the open-cell foam insert helps eliminate heat from the surface of the pillow.

Are there enough options available for all sleeping positions?

The high and low loft options make this pillow suitable for all sleeping positions. You can choose the one that suits how you sleep (low loft for stomach or back sleepers, and high loft for side sleepers).

Does this pillow feel squishy and comfortable?

Yes, this pillow has a soft, squishy feel that doesn’t skimp on support. If you like a softer pillow with a little more give, this pillow is perfect for you.

Does the cooling Snow technology really work?

Yes! There was a noticeable reduction in heat when using the Foam Pillow with Snow. The Snow technology works to continually remove heat from the pillow during the night, so hot sleepers stay cooler.
