It may not be difficult to find a twin-sized mattress in Canada, but it’s hard to find one that performs well. Many of the most luxurious mattresses on the Canadian market aren’t made in smaller sizes, which may lead to a situation where you feel that you must compromise. Here, we’ll highlight five options for twin mattresses that are affordable, available, and perform well without breaking the bank.
We’re ready to share our expert opinions on:
- Mattresses that perform well in smaller sizes, including options with better edge support
- Affordable options that are ideal for kids’ rooms and guest rooms
- Mattresses that have multiple firmness options
- Longer sleep trials and generous mattress warranties
- Options starting at just $399 for a Twin.
Our Testing Process for the Best Twin Mattresses in Canada for 2025

How We Score Twin Mattresses in Canada
The mattress scores we gave each option were aggregated from testing data and tester feedback. We carefully weighed all of our data and gave each mattress a performance score based on these observations.
Our Tests for Twin Mattresses
We tested these twin mattresses using a range of practical and simulation tests. After we were done examining the mattresses, we ran them through a gauntlet of ball drop tests and equipment to measure vibration and heat. Then, our team of testers took the mattresses home to see how they worked in the long term.
Which Twin Mattresses Make the Cut?
We choose Twin mattresses based on a few factors, including their performance for single sleepers, price, and quality. The options that made it onto our list were the best from a large pool of our favourite mattress choices.

The Best Twin Mattresses in Canada: 5 Options for Kids and Singles in Canada [2025 Edition]
Editor’s Choice – Douglas Original
Our Editor's Choice
The Douglas Original is a medium-firm mattress with surprisingly strong performance across all of our testing categories.
Highlights
“The Douglas Original exceeded every one of my expectations. I can’t wait to try some of their upgraded mattresses.”
— Slumber.ca Verified Mattress Review (Douglas Original)
Douglas Original Construction
- Cooling Cover. All Douglas mattresses use a removable, machine-washable cooling cover. It is made with Infinitex fibres to help keep you cool by drawing heat away and maintaining breathability.
- Gel Foam. The top layer of the Douglas Original mattress is made with cooling gel foam. This responsive foam is made with 40% less carbon input than standard 4lb memory foam, which means it performs in the same ways but without many of the drawbacks (mainly heat!)
- Premium Transition Foam. A layer of Elatex, a latex alternative, makes up the responsive, comfortable transition layer of this mattress. It’s made without latex chemicals and keeps movement free and easy, so you can get comfortable without strain.
- Supportive Base. The base of the Douglas mattress uses 6” of dense motion isolation foam. This layer helps keep your spine aligned for fewer aches, while balancing your body to reduce pressure. It also dampens any movement from the other side of the bed, so you can sleep without disturbances.
Douglas Original Performance Scores

Temperature Control: 9.3/10
Temperature control is notoriously difficult to achieve in all-foam mattresses. Memory foam tends to hold on to heat. The materials used here don’t keep your excess body heat close to you, meaning that those who sleep hot can rest without night sweats.
Motion Isolation: 9.8/10
Foam mattresses are known to isolate motion better than others, but that’s taken to the extreme here. This mattress has a near-perfect motion isolation score. If you share a bed, you’ll find that none of the motion from the other side of the mattress will wake you up. Canadians who sleep on a twin bed may find that their pets no longer wake them up when they get up on the bed.
Pressure Relief: 9.3/10
Pressure relief is a huge factor for many Canadians, especially side sleepers and heavier side sleepers. Rest assured that the Douglas Original has some of the best pressure relief we’ve seen in a basic mattress model. Some mattress models only provide this level of comfort in more advanced mattresses, but that isn’t the case here.
Ease of Movement: 9.2/10
The proprietary foam layers within the Douglas Original make it easy to move around on the surface. While traditional memory foam sinks and sometimes won’t let you turn over, the nontraditional layers here work to keep you lifted out of the mattress. It still contours to your body to relieve pressure, but it does this without making you feel like you can’t change position.
Who is the Douglas Original Mattress For?
- Hot sleepers. If you suffer from night sweats, the Douglas Original may be able to help. Cooling foams and non-traditional materials reduce heat build-up, so you can sleep more comfortably.
- Budget shoppers. This mattress is extremely affordable, especially when compared to other options on the Canadian market. You can’t beat this price for the quality it offers.
- Those who need pressure relief. The Douglas Original is one of the best twin mattresses in Canada for pressure relief. The comfortable foams cushion your body and keeps aches away.
Who Should Avoid the Douglas Original Mattress?
- Canadians who want bounce. If you are looking for a mattress that gives you more feedback through the night, you won’t find it with the Douglas mattress.

Alternative Option
The Douglas mattress is an all-foam option that may lack bounce and stronger support due to its construction. If these things are important to you, a hybrid option like the Logan & Cove Choice might be more suitable.
Best Euro-Top – Logan & Cove Choice
Best Euro-Top
The Logan & Cove Choice features a cloud-like Euro-top that cushions your body with the perfect level of comfort.
Highlights
“The Euro-top is the best part of this mattress. It’s so incredibly comfortable that it never takes me long to fall asleep.”
— Slumber.ca Verified Mattress Review (Logan & Cove Choice)
Logan & Cove Choice Construction
- Quilted Euro-Top. The Euro-top section starts with a breathable fabric cover. It’s made with CryoFusion cooling nanofibres, which work to move heat away from you throughout the night. Quilted right to the cover is a layer of fibre fill and a layer of gel-infused foam.
- Cooling Foam. The first layer under the Euro-top is a cooling gel foam. It provides instant pressure relief for your hips and shoulders, while the cooling gel works to reduce higher temperatures through the night.
- Transition Layer. A middle layer of latex alternative transition foam keeps deep pressure points more comfortable. This layer makes it easy to move around on the mattress and keeps your body lifted out of the firmer coil layer.
- Pocket Coil Base. The pocket coil base uses firm coils through the centre, helping to support you where you need it most. The top and bottom third of the mattress are softer for better pressure relief at your shoulders and knees. This 9” thick layer also features firm edge support foam to keep the edges comfortable.
Logan & Cove Choice Performance Scores
Temperature Control: 9.4/10
The Choice does a great job of mitigating heat, removing higher temperatures from the surface of the mattress, and adding breathable materials throughout. The result is a mattress that keeps even the hottest sleepers cool and greatly reduces night sweats.
Motion Isolation: 6.2/10
The Logan & Cove Choice isn’t the best mattress for motion isolation. The coils move too much, so you can feel most movement from the other side of the bed. However, this might not mean much if you’re looking for a Twin mattress, as this mostly impacts couples and co-sleepers.
Pressure Relief: 8.9/10
Though the Euro-top at the top of this mattress is plush, the other layers don’t cushion your body enough to provide top-notch pressure relief. This mattress will be perfect for sleepers who aren’t usually affected by pressure points, but heavier sleepers might have a hard time getting comfortable.
Ease of Movement: 10/10
Standard memory foam often makes you feel ‘stuck’, or like you’re sinking into quicksand. Thankfully, the Logan & Cove Choice doesn’t use standard memory foam. All of its layers are made with ease of movement in mind, and the proprietary foam layer swont’ keep you stuck like memory foam might.
Who is the Logan & Cove Choice Mattress For?
- Canadians who prefer a softer feel. The Logan & Cove Choice is a medium-firm mattress, but the Euro-top makes it more comfortable when you first lie down.
- Those with back pain. The zoned support layer works to reduce strain on your joints or misalignment that can make your back ache.
- Hot sleepers. The breathable top layer and dual layers of cooling foam work well together, especially when paired with the breathable pocket coil base.
Who Should Avoid the Logan & Cove Choice Mattress?
- Canadians on a budget. The Logan & Cove Choice is a premium mattress with the price tag to match. Though it isn’t in luxury territory in terms of price, it’s a bit more expensive than most of the other mattresses on our list.
| Factor | Logan & Cove Choice Mattress |
| Price | $999 (Queen) |
| Sizes | Twin, Twin XL, Full/Double, Queen, King, California King, Split King |
| Firmness | Medium Firm |
| Sinkage | ⚠️ 6.4 cm |

Alternative Option
Back sleepers won’t love the way the Logan & Cove Choice feels, especially those who need a firmer top. If you sleep on your back, the Endy mattress might be a better option. Though it isn’t a hybrid, it offers multiple firmness options so you can find exactly the feel you need.
Best Firmness Options – The Endy Mattress
Best Firmness Options
The Endy mattress comes in three firmness options, making it perfect for those who know exactly what they like.
Highlights
“I’ve heard a lot about Endy mattresses throughout the years. I’m finding that everything they say is true! This mattress is so comfortable.”
— Slumber.ca Verified Mattress Review (Endy Mattress)
Endy Mattress Construction
The Endy mattress has three firmness options, but they use the same construction. The thickness of the materials changes with each firmness to provide a distinct feel.
- Quilted Cover. The cover on the Endy mattress is a breathable material that stretches easily over the layers. It’s removable and can be washed at home when you need to refresh your bed.
- Endy Comfort Foam. Endy’s open-cell foam construction facilitates better response, better temperature control, and greater motion isolation. This layer also contours to your body, adapting to the perfect support level.
- Transition Layer. A layer of transition foam keeps you lifted out of the mattress, preventing you from sinking too far into the mattress. This layer also helps with ease of movement.
- Supportive Base. The supportive base of the mattress balances your body so you don’t wake up with aches.

Endy Mattress Performance Scores
Temperature Control: 9.3/10
Endy uses an open-cell, temperature-neutral foam for its top layer. This top layer does most of the heavy lifting for temperature control throughout the mattress. The breathable cover helps reduce heat, but this layer isolates higher temperatures and moves them away from you. It’s a great choice for those who sleep too hot.
Motion Isolation: 9.6/10
This mattress isolates motion extremely well. Though it might not matter on a Twin-sized mattress, our testers noted very little movement from the other side of the mattress during their tests. Endy is notorious for motion isolation, and we can agree that it doesn’t retain heat like other mattresses.
Pressure Relief: 8.1/10
One area we wish Endy could perfect is pressure relief. While the materials allow this mattress to perform well in other areas, they are a bit too thin for great pressure relief. The Plush version of this mattress performs better here, and we would recommend that option for Canadians who need pressure relief.
Ease of Movement: 10/10
On the other hand, Endy gets a perfect score from us for ease of movement. Extremely responsive materials reduce how often you feel stuck, even if you’ve been lying in the same position for hours.
Who is the Endy Mattress For?
- Those who need strong motion isolation. If your pets wake you up when they move around at night, Endy’s strong motion isolation might be the perfect solution.
- Restless sleepers. Do you often find yourself tossing and turning? If you are restless and need to move around to get comfortable, Endy is perfect. It won’t make you feel stuck like more traditional memory foam.
- Hot sleepers. Endy’s open-cell foam design isolates heat better than standard memory foam. This mattress won’t retain heat, so you’ll stay much cooler as a result.
Who Should Avoid the Endy Mattress?
- Canadians who need deep pressure relief. If you suffer from uncomfortable pressure points, the Endy isn’t the best choice. The Plush version has better performance here, though.
| Factor | Endy Mattress |
| Price | $895 (Queen) |
| Sizes | Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King |
| Firmness | Firm, Medium Firm, Plush |
| Sinkage | ✅ 3.7 cm |
| Response Time | ✅ 0.2 sec |
| Motion Isolation | ✅ Strong |
| Edge Support | ✅ Strong |
| Bounce | ✅ Strong |
| Sleeping Position | ✅ Side Sleeper ✅ Back Sleeper ⚠️ Stomach Sleeper |
| Comfort Layer Height | 2.0” |
| Support Layer Height | 10” |
| Sleep Trial | 365 Nights |
| Warranty | 15 Years |
Alternative Option
Endy is a great mattress in most respects, but it lacks pressure relief. If you need a mattress that will cushion deeper pressure points, consider choosing the Douglas Original.
Best All Foam – Octave Vista
Best All Foam
The Octave Vista is the best all-foam option for a Twin mattress. This mattress is affordable and performs well in most categories, especially edge support.
Highlights
“Octave Vista offers amazing value for what you get. We were so impressed with the quality of this mattress.”
— Slumber.ca Verified Mattress Review (Octave Vista)
Octave Vista Construction
- Cooling Cover. The cover of the Octave Vista uses cooling fibres and a breathable weave to help reduce heat and keep you cooler at the surface of the mattress.
- Copper-Infused Memory Foam and PCM. The top layer is 2” thick, infused with CopperGel memory foam. Copper is an excellent conductor, and helps move heat to the cooler parts of the mattress (and therefore away from you). It’s coated with PCM (phase-changing material), which maintains a consistently cool temperature through the night.
- Transition Layer. The transition layer cradles your body, reducing pressure and contouring to eliminate strain. This layer maintains responsiveness and helps you relax so you can wake up refreshed and restored.
- 8” Support Foam Layer. The bottom layer is an 8” support base that uses ergonomic comfort zones to help with deep pressure relief. This layer is supportive and keeps you aligned, while air channels wick off heat at the deepest parts of the mattress.
Octave Vista Performance Scores
Temperature Control: 8.2/10
We thought that the Octave Vista could have performed better when it came to cooling. The use of phase-changing material, copper-infused foam, and a cooling cover should work well together, but our testers found that it didn’t help those who slept extremely hot.
Motion Isolation: 8.5/10
We tested a larger version of this mattress, so motion isolation was at the forefront of our testing. If you sleep alone, motion isolation might not be a big deal for you. This mattress doesn’t isolate motion as well as we’d hope for an all-foam option. We think the air channels in the support base are to blame.
Pressure Relief: 8.3/10
Pressure relief is essential for heavier sleepers, side sleepers, and those who press deeply into the mattress. The Vista doesn’t have the best pressure relief scores we’ve seen, but our testers had varying results with this score. It seems that average sleepers had the best time, while others felt a little more strain than they were comfortable with.
Ease of Movement: 9.2/10
Despite its all-foam construction, it’s easy to move around on the Octave Vista. Some mattresses pull you back into your body indents when you try to turn over. The layers of foam within the Vista bounce back quickly. You can find your next comfortable spot without the ‘quicksand’ feeling of standard memory foam.

Who is the Octave Vista Mattress For?
- Side sleepers. Side sleepers need strong balance and support, with enough cushion to relieve deep pressure points. This mattress answers all of those needs.
- Those who move around a lot at night. If you move around a lot and often need to change positions, the Octave Vista will reform quickly and keep you from feeling stuck.
- Canadians who want to try their mattress for longer. The Octave Vista offers a 365-night sleep trial, so you have a full year to try the mattress before you decide if it’s right for you.
Who Should Avoid the Octave Vista Mattress?
- Those who sleep hot. The cooling properties of the Octave Vista may be fine for some Canadians, but those who regularly wake up overheated may want to choose a different option.
| Factor | Octave Vista Mattress |
| Price | $899 (Queen) |
| Sizes | Twin, Twin XL, Full/Double, Queen, King, California King, Split King |
| Firmness | Medium Firm |
| Sinkage | ✅ 4.17 cm |
| Response Time | ✅ 0.4 sec |
| Motion Isolation | ✅ Moderate |
| Edge Support | ✅ Strong |
| Bounce | ⚠️ Minimal |
| Sleeping Position | ✅ Side Sleeper ⚠️ Back Sleeper ✅ Stomach Sleeper |
| Comfort Layer Height | 4.0” |
| Support Layer Height | 8.0” |
| Sleep Trial | 365 Nights |
| Warranty | 15 Years |
Alternative Option
Octave Vista performs well in most categories, but it lacks motion isolation. While you are likely to be sleeping alone on a Twin mattress, those who need strong motion isolation would do better with an option like the Endy.
Best Budget – Juno
Best Budget
Juno is a budget mattress that still performs surprisingly well. At just $399 for a Twin, it’s perfect for children and single sleepers.
Highlights
“We’ve put a Juno mattress in all of our children’s bedrooms over the years. It’s the perfect Twin mattress for kids, especially at the price point.”
— Slumber.ca Verified Mattress Review (Juno)
Juno Mattress Construction
- Knit Cover. The cover of the Juno mattress is a soft, knitted fabric that is durable enough for everyday use. You can upgrade to the Cool+ cover, which includes greater cooling capabilities for those who sleep hot.
- Cooling Gel Foam. The top of the mattress features a 2” layer of cooling gel foam. This foam is soft enough to reduce uncomfortable pressure points, but durable enough to wick away heat. You’ll sleep cooler and more comfortably.
- Support Base. The 6” foam base of the Juno mattress offers extreme motion isolation and lumbar support. This layer is firmer to help you feel well-supported in every sleeping position.
Juno Mattress Performance Scores

Temperature Control: 8.9/10
Juno doesn’t retain much heat, and the optional Cool+ cover upgrade goes a long way to mitigating higher temperatures. This mattress is perfect for those who usually don’t overheat. If you sleep hot, the upgraded cover can greatly increase this performance score.
Motion Isolation: 8.0/10
Motion isolation is more important for couples, but it can also play a role in how Twin mattresses sleep. If you sleep with pets, this mattress may be able to keep you asleep while they move around. However, those who need extreme motion isolation would do better with a mattress suited for motion.
Pressure Relief: 9.3/10
The cooling gel foam at the top of this mattress is relatively thin. We didn’t expect it to relieve much pressure, as we thought our testers might sink right through. However, that wasn’t the case. This layer is durable and dense enough to provide great pressure relief, without being firm enough to become uncomfortable.
Ease of Movement: 8.9/10
The first comfort layer in the Juno mattress does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to ease of movement. You’ll sink in a little more than we would like, but the responsive materials make up for it. When you turn over or move away, you won’t feel stuck in the same spot most of the time.
Who is the Juno Mattress For?
- Canadians on a budget. If you need a high-quality mattress but don’t have much to spend, the Juno is perfect for you. Even the larger sizes offer great value for your money.
- Warm sleepers. Juno sleeps cooler than you may think, especially when you add the Cool+ cover upgrade. Canadians who sleep warm get a bit of relief from the cooling materials here.
- Lightweight sleepers. This mattress has great pressure relief, but the comfort layers are made for sleepers who don’t sink too far into the mattress. Lightweight sleepers will be comfortable here.
Who Should Avoid the Juno Mattress?
- Heavier Canadians. While the Juno mattress is good for children and lightweight sleepers, heavier sleepers may easily sink into the thin comfort layer and feel the firmer support layer below.
| Factor | Juno Mattress |
| Price | $499 (Queen) |
| Sizes | Twin, Twin XL, Full/Double, Queen, King, California King, Split King |
| Firmness | Medium Firm |
| Sinkage | ⚠️ 5.08 cm |

| Sleeping Position | ⚠️ Side Sleeper ✅ Back Sleeper ✅ Stomach Sleeper |
| Comfort Layer Height | 2” |
| Support Layer Height | 6” |
| Sleep Trial | 120 Nights |
| Warranty | 15 Years |
Alternative Option
The Juno mattress does a great job for the price. If you have a bit more to spend and need something with better performance overall, consider the Douglas Original. It doesn’t cost much, but it has better performance in nearly every category.

FAQs
What are the dimensions of a Twin mattress in Canada?
A standard Twin mattress is around 38″ x 75″, though this may vary based on the manufacturer. It should never be more than a few inches difference, however. Twin XL mattresses, on the other hand, usually measure around 38″ x 80″.
What is the difference between a Twin and Twin XL mattress?
A Twin XL is 5 inches longer than a Twin. It isn’t different in any other way, including the width of the mattress. This allows taller sleepers more legroom. If you are taller, a Twin XL can prevent your feet from hanging off the other end of the bed.
Who should buy a Twin mattress?
Twin mattresses are perfect for children, single sleepers, compact spaces, and bunk beds. Twin XL mattresses are often used in dorm rooms because they can accommodate taller sleepers.
What is a Split King and how is it similar to a Twin?
A Split King is a size used by adjustable beds. When each side of an adjustable bed is independently adjustable, it uses a ‘Split King’ mattress. This option is available from many mattress retailers. At first glance, it looks like a premium option. The truth is, a Split King mattress is just two Twin XL mattresses, one for each side of the bed. The price reflects the price of two Twin XL mattresses from the same company, which can vary based on the model.
Are Twin mattresses more affordable than other sizes?
Yes, a Twin mattress is often the cheapest and smallest option offered by most mattress companies. Twin and Twin XL are usually the same price, and are a few hundred dollars less than Queen or King mattresses on average.

Anyone try one of these twin mattresses in a bunk bed setup? Wondering about thickness.
Hi Ian,
Any of these mattresses would work for a bunk bed, but the thinnest option by far is the Juno mattress. It’s just 9″ thick, so it should work perfectly in a bunk bed setup.
Thank you!
Which twin mattress from this list has the best edge support?
Hi David,
There are three mattresses on our list that are tied for the best edge support score. The Logan & Cove Choice, Endy Mattress, and Octave Vista are all rated at a 9.7 out of 10 for edge support, so any will work for you.
Thanks!
I bought the Endy twin for my daughter. It’s held up great even with all her jumping around!
