The one area where this mattress could improve is motion isolation. Of course, hybrid mattresses have significantly reduced motion isolation because of the coils. When we cracked this mattress open, we were surprised by how thin the comfort layers were. We were sure that it wouldn’t be comfortable, especially for heavier sleepers. We were surprised, then, to see our pressure relief test results. While heavier sleepers may still feel some discomfort due to the thinner layers, most will feel comfortable on top of the mattress. Most of our testers agree that this mattress does a great job of relieving pressure, and our scores reflect that.

It was extremely easy to move around on top of the Endy mattress. Even our active testers could turn over and change positions easily. The open-cell foam at the top of the mattress springs back into shape quickly, so you never feel stuck within the mattress.

The Silk & Snow Organic mattress has no organic cooling features. Despite this, it does a great job of keeping you cool. Since there is no memory foam in the mattress, it doesn’t retain heat as much as a memory foam option would. However, there are some limitations. The Plush version of the mattress gathers more heat than the Firm, which doesn’t include as many foam layers. Our testing revealed that heat did build up within the materials, but the Firm version was able to remove it quickly. Still, even the Plush version of the mattress is fine for most Canadians who sleep warm.

Motion Isolation – 7.2/10

Motion isolation varies across the different versions of this mattress, but all of them still return subpar results. While the Plush version of the mattress does isolate more motion, it still doesn’t do enough for most couples. Our simulation and practical tests all returned pretty poor results. While some couples may be fine, those who are often restless need a mattress with better motion isolation. 

Pressure Relief- 8.9/10

The pressure relief in this mattress isn’t the best we’ve seen, but it isn’t too bad either. As the mattress gets softer, pressure relief gets better. The Plush version has a ton of great pressure relief measures, so it will be better for those who need it. However, the Firm version will only relieve a minimal amount of pressure. Our testers found that this was consistent over all sleeping positions and body types. If you need better relief, Plush is the way to go. If you are okay with moderate relief, Firm will be fine.

Ease of Movement – 9.4/10

It is easy to move around on the surface of the Firm version of this mattress. Testers of the Firm version reported that they could turn over without any issues, and moving around was easy throughout the night. However, movement gets a bit harder as the softness increases. It’s a little harder to move around on the Medium Firm version, and a little harder than that for the Plush version. Still, none of our test results were particularly bad. Those who move around a lot should still be able to.

Who is the Silk & Snow Organic For?

We tested this mattress with practical and simulation tests, using real testers and weighted balls. Both tests returned subpar results, so those with restless partners may need a different mattress. 

Pressure Relief- 9.4/10

The Logan and Cove Frontier is a thicker mattress, so the layers come together to offer better pressure relief. The materials are all extremely high-quality and dense, with proprietary blends that work wonders for the mattress. We never got any complaints of pressure points, stiffness, or other discomforts from our testers.

The Simba 2500 Hybrid delivers some of the best cooling properties on our list. This mattress features proprietary and specialty foam layers, all of which work to reduce heat while you sleep. Aside from cooler temperatures, you can expect better motion isolation when you sleep on this mattress. This makes it one of the best options for couples, particularly couples with restless partners or lighter sleepers.

Simba 2500 Mattress Construction

• Breathable Sleep Surface. The cover of the Simba 2500 is hand-knitted, removable, and washable. The fabric itself is hypoallergenic, but the washable nature means it’s easy to get clean when it’s time to refresh your bed. It’s also breathable enough to reduce higher temperatures at the surface of the mattress.
• Open-Cell Graphite-Infused Simbatex. The top layer is graphite-infused Simbatex, an open-cell proprietary foam that helps reduce higher temperatures throughout the mattress. This layer is known to increase airflow exponentially, making it much easier to get a cool night of sleep. The graphite works as a natural conductor, moving heat away from you so that you stay cool throughout the night.
• Aerocoil Spring-Comfort Layer. Instead of creating a strong foundation of thick pocket coils, the Simba 2500 opts to deliver better pressure relief and support with up to 2,500 conical micro-coils in the middle of the mattress. These coils contour to your body, perfectly balancing your body and providing comfortable alignment no matter how you sleep. 
• Edge-to-Edge Simba-Pure Support. A transition layer of edge-support Simba-Pure foam helps cushion the coils from the firmer Simba-Pure foam base. This layer uses Edge Lift technology to reduce sagging at the edges, so you stay supported no matter where you sleep. This layer also cushions your deepest pressure points, reducing strain on your body.
• Zoned Simba Pure Base. The base of the mattress is zoned, with seven ergonomic zones to keep you comfortable as you move around. The base uses strategic collapse points to adjust to you as you move, reducing discomfort and aligning your body without any additional pressure. 

Simba 2500 Mattress Performance Scores

Temperature Control – 9.1/10

The graphite-infused open-cell foam at the top of the mattress does a great job of relieving higher temperatures. It is also aided by the layer of Aerocoils below. Together, these layers are more breathable than standard foams. Our hottest testers felt some heat building up throughout the night, but for the most part, it didn’t affect them too badly. Our testing showed heat spikes throughout the night, but the mattress quickly dealt with them by wicking the heat away.

Motion Isolation – 9.8/10

The Simba 2500 has one of the best motion isolation scores on our list. This is because it isn’t like a traditional hybrid mattress. Instead of a thick base of pocket coils, the Simba 2500 uses a layer of Aerocoils to provide support. The support base of the mattress is zoned foam, which isolates motion better than standard coils. Every iteration of our motion isolation testing came back with incredible results for motion isolation within this mattress.

Pressure Relief- 9.2/10

The Aerocoils have another benefit besides breathability. They contour to your body, providing better pressure relief than other types of foam or coils alone. That’s because they are smaller, and they compress much easier. This means you’ll get stronger, firmer coils where you need them, but they won’t return any pressure to make you uncomfortable. No matter how they slept, our testers didn’t experience any pressure points or discomfort.

Ease of Movement – 8.0/10

One of the areas where the Simba doesn’t perform as well is ease of movement. While the layers inside the mattress provide great pressure relief, they let you sink pretty far into the mattress. It’s certainly possible to move around on the surface of the mattress, but it might take some effort to turn over. Our active testers reported this often.

Who is the Simba 2500 For? 

• Couples and co-sleepers. While some hybrids move a lot, the Simba 2500 provides great motion isolation. Couples and co-sleepers, especially those with restless partners, won’t feel many of the movements from the other side of the mattress.
• Canadians who need better pressure relief. Pressure relief is best for those who sleep on their sides, but many sleepers need some type of pressure relief. This mattress is comfortable enough to cushion you from deeper pressure points.
• Those who sleep hot. The Simba 2500 provides great cooling features. Those who sleep hot may find that they sleep cooler on this mattress than on my hybrid models.

Who Should Avoid the Simba 2500?

• Active sleepers. Those who move around a lot may want to avoid the Simba 2500. The layers of comfort materials may sometimes make you feel stuck.
